Inspired by an old European tradition, the birthday ring is a magical way to celebrate a child's birthdays, from the first through the 12th. The painted wooden ring has 12 holes. On baby's first birthday, place a single candle and 11 of the whimsical painted pegs around the ring. Add a candle to the ring in place of a peg each year until the 12th birthday. (The remaining can be placed in the center of the ring.) This will be a special tradition to look forward to as each birthday comes around.
