Each turn the player decides to use any combination of the one to three dice to roll the totals of 1 through 18. Each player has their own set of colored markers. The markers are used to cover up the numbers on the game board as it is rolled. A rolled number cannot be split up. EX: A player may roll a 9 as the result of rolling two of the three dice. The only play available is the 9; you cannot place markers on 4 and 5, even if they are unoccupied. Each player receives two rolls per turn.
