The Steinel 34874 auto body welding kit includes the HG 2310 LCD heat gun, which emits continuously variable airstreams from 3.6 to 17.6 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at temperatures ranging from 120 to 1,200 degrees F. The gun’s temperature setting can be changed in increments of ten degrees F, and the airflow can be varied in ten settings. Similar in shape to a hair dryer, the gun has four preset temperature and airflow settings that can be programmed for frequent applications, a cool air stage, and an LCD that displays airflow, temperature setting, and actual output temperature. Each coil in the heating element is encapsulated in ceramic to extend coil life and provide even heat. The kit includes two reducer nozzles for heating small areas, a welding iron, wire mesh, welding rods, and a carrying case for safe transport and storage. It is suitable for many automobile repair applications from repairing plastic auto parts and seats to removing window tinting and decals. Accessory nozzles (sold separately) are used to shape the air stream over a wider area, or direct it around pipes and tubing for even heating which prevents adjoining surfaces (such as panes of glass) from overheating, and some heat gun models incorporate workbench stands to allow hands-free operation. Steinel manufactures heat guns, glue guns, gas torches, and sensors.
