Eric Gagne has been one of baseball's best relief pitchers over the years at one point establishing a MLB record when he converted 84 straight save opportunities (over the course of two seasons). Currently with the Boston Red Sox Gagne previously pitched for the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Dodgers and he won the Cy Young Award in 2003 while with the Dodgers. That year he recorded 54 saves and a 1.20 ERA with 137 strikeouts in 82 1/3 innings.
