with Frank Martin, University of South Carolina Head Coach; former Kansas State University Head Coach; 2010 Big 12 Coach of the Year Frank Martin gives coaches a complete view into what makes the Kansas State Wildcats so successful in the Big 12. With this "all access" look at the Wildcats first four practices of the 2010-11 season, you'll gain insight into the technique and work put forth by the Wildcats players and coaches to try to make themselves better each and every day. The first days of practice are about establishing a base of fundamentals to compete at a championship level. Coach Martin emphasizes a full court "pressure" mentality with his players. His philosophy is built on teaching the whole-part-whole method of offensive and defensive concepts. His defense pressures the basketball in the full court and keeps the ball handler out of the middle of the floor. Offensively, Martin runs a disciplined motion offense with correct screening angles on and off the ball while encouraging both inside and perimeter play. Warm-Up Learn individual improvement drills consisting of full court passing, entries into the post, attacking the rim with the pressure of a defender, sealing in the post, working high/low and shooting drills to gain correct repetitions for outstanding offensive fundamental play. Martin implements his full court drills--1-on-1, 2-on-2, 3-on-3 and 4-on-4--then brings it all together in 5 on 5 transition drill that teaches his keys for successful full court disruptive pressure. Through repetition of these drills and more, his players develop a "push the basketball ahead" mentality to get the basketball up the floor as fast as possible. During these drills, Martin emphasizes slicing to get the basketball to the other side of the floor; rim running the posts, which puts intense pressure on the defense in transition and leads to easy baskets; spacing on the court, attacking the middle with the dribble and looking to take advantage of post touches, flare screens and ball screens. Man-to-Man Defense Coach Martin pieces together his championship man-to-man defensive principles by breaking them down in individual and team defensive stations. In these stations you will learn Martin's "mirroring the basketball on the perimeter" principles and one-on-one closeout technique. You will see various defensive drills that teach correct on-ball defensive positioning, defensive rotation on dribble penetration, how to take away the ball handler's pivot foot, defending against the back screen, how to avoid multiple screens and stay with your man and more. Motion Offense The last part of the Coach Martin's practice is the breakdown of his motion offense concepts in which he shows the whole concept of the players' movements against man-to-man half-court defenses. Martin utilities the Carolina secondary action and allows the players to flow right in their half-court man attack. Players are taught to look high/low for an inside touch, set staggered screens, dribble hand-offs and ball screening on the wings and at the top of the key. If you are looking to be a disruptive, pressuring, championship team--All Access with Coach Frank Martin is an instant hit. 486 minutes (4 DVDs). 2011.

with Frank Martin, University of South Carolina Head Coach; former Kansas State University Head Coach; 2010 Big 12 Coach of the Year Run more to put pressure on your opponent's defense - not allowing them to get set. In this on-court presentation, Frank Martin shares his coaching philosophy on the offensive end in his early offense attack. Martin believes to be a successful running team that you must run all of the time not just when you have the lead. He views his role as a coach as getting the right players, the right shots, from the right spots. This philosophy allows the coach to entrust the players with more responsibility and control, which results in quick decision-making and quick plays. Coach Martin's broken floor drills deals with the number's situations teams face during a game, whether it is 2-on1, 3-on2, 4-on-3, or 5-on-4. He demonstrates his 2-on-1 continuous drill and his 3-on-2 continuous drill. These lead into his 3-on-2 to 4-on-3 to 5-on-4 to 5-on-5 transition drill where scores are kept for offensive baskets as well as defensive stops. These scores are important for enforcing consequences at the end of practice. Throughout each drill he shares the rules and goals and how they translate to the broader game. From the team drills, Martin goes into his individual breakdown drills for effective early offense. He takes you through drill work for the point guards, the wings and finally the big men. In each breakdown area, he goes through each player's rules, goals, and options within the early offense scheme. He finishes with a look at a few of the secondary break plays he runs at Kansas State. These quick hitters include the Carolina action as well as ball screen actions. Running a quick, early offense gives the defense no other choice but to foul in order to slow down the game. Coach Martin's team averaged 37 free throw attempts per game last season due in large part to their running style in early offense. If you are looking for new ways to get your team running, then you need to take a look at the philosophies, drills, and actions in this DVD. Produced at the Spring 2010 Wisconsin Dells Clinic 68 minutes. 2010.

with Franklin Martin, Pro Development Camp (Founder) and Coach The Pro Development Camp was established in 1996 by Coach Martin and NBA Hall of Fame Center, Bill Walton. Martin, a former Division I player and assistant coach, also added NBA agent experience to his sterling resume. Because Martin trained his own players and negotiated their contracts he was credited for their improvements, which led to great contracts. In 2005, Martin brought his program to the West Coast. Based in Los Angeles he now trains NBA and collegiate players at UCLA. This self-improvement DVD on cone drills illustrates his ability to transform players quickly and turn their "dreams into reality." Martin teaches the "open stance" on the wing, which allows players many options on the catch. The left pivot drill works on four moves: Rip through low, shoot, drive and drop step drive. Cones are placed on the floor to simulate defenders. The change of direction drill requires the player to beat two defenders and shoot over the third. The third defender represents the help that rotates over to defend the ball, making these drills game-like. Multiple moves in these drills enhance a player's footwork, ability to play low and finish shots. Players become versatile by using both pivot feet and using through the legs and behind the back dribbles. From the point guard position, Martin puts players through drills facing the basket. These drills develop the crossover, step back dribble, the floater shot and the running hook. The full court dribble drill challenges players to cover the most floor with the least amount of dribbles. With this DVD, all players can develop perimeter skills needed in today's game. These drills will help you gain confidence and ball skills that will elevate you into the next level. 50 minutes. 2006.

Ganon Baker is quickly becominuitesg the game's next true "Innovator." In this fantastic DVD, he explores creative and competitive drills for the art of passing. He begins by offering 10 teaching tips for the proper passing fundamentals; Stance, release and catching. Because the game is so quick, passing against pressure is very important. The concept of "Pressure Vision," "Foot Fighting" and the "Sweep Pivot" are all combined with a passer's ability to read the defense. Drills are categorized by one man, two man, three man, four man and team drills. Other drills, such as the Jason Williams Series, the Jason Kidd Series and the Steve Nash Series, are specific to the skills of each NBA player as to how they use their skills to "Thread the Needle." Baker emphasizes that any of these drills can be done with just a ball, a wall and a willing player who wants to improve his game. This presentation concludes with five team drills that combine many of the individual or small group drills previously illustrated. These team drills emphasize passing and catching skills in a competitive team setting. Without the ability to pass, a player will be left behind in the basketball world today. Whether you are a junior high, high school, or professional player, each of these drills has a specific value. Use this DVD to identify your weaknesses and work hard to improve them. When players apply the passing skills of Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, and Jason Williams, they can elevate to new area of player development. Ganon Baker has packed another DVD with the tools that today's player must have. Don't be left behind!

For over 20 years, Dennis Nobles has helped train long jump athletes to All-American levels. In this instructional DVD, Coach Nobles utilizes the 2006 National Champion athlete to show athletes at all levels the finer points of the triple jump. Speed on the runway is the key to the triple jump, and the starting point for Nobles. The first step is the most variable and critical to the jump. Nobles encourages athletes to set a first step check mark to remain consistent with the initial step. Your runway spring is vital to how far you will jump and is a consistent emphasis by Nobles. When approaching the board, stability, balance and velocity are the major factors he teaches. Use of arms at takeoff can also determinuitese your end result. The three distinct jumps are also seen as one individual entity. Instead of the hitch kick at the end, the hang technique is used. The hang is a way to slow the natural rotation of the body for maximum distance. Nobles also focuses on strength training, warm-up, and stretching exercises, all important to the jumper's ultimate success.

From stepping into the circle to the follow through of the throw, Florida State Throws coach Harlis Meaders provides a comprehensive step-by-step technical and drill progression for the Rotational Shot Put. Not only does Coach Meaders provide the "how" of each phase of his instruction, he provides the "why," that immerses his instruction with purpose. In addition, he uses a former-FSU All-American athlete, to give you a clear demonstration on the proper fundamentals for the event. Meaders begins with footwork, stance and body positioning in the circle without the shot. From that position, you will see a series of pivot drills that progress from a quarter pivot to half, three-quarters and then to the full pivot. Meaders demonstrates stick drills to give you a clear visual cue to help train proper positioning of the non-throwing arm with the knee during the rotation. Progressing with the rotation, Meaders shows you specific drills that include unique visual props to train your throwers to stay in the ally of the circle. He includes ball drills to teach proper positioning of the body at the front of the circle before the throw and release occur. Prior to bringing the shot to the drill progression, Meaders presents a technical breakdown of the throw mechanics and the three determinuitesing factors for achieving the most distance in a throw. With the shot, adding Meaders moves from standing throws through the South African drills and into full throws. Meaders fine tunes the full throw and presents specific instruction for the reverse, or follow through, that enables the thrower to remain in the circle after the throw occurs. Throughout the instruction, Meaders provides invaluable tips that will assist both thrower and coach to identify and correct errors in every phase of the throw. This instruction is perfect for throwers and coaches looking to find the "extras" that will aid in significantly increasing distance.

The give-and-go series is an excellent segment that adds receiving the ball to cutting. The Hornet drill emphasizes vision on the ball and showing the target hand. Drills included are "door," dance steps and "fake the go" and all put fundamental teaching into practical drills. Because of the trend toward pressure defense, the back door remains one of the game's biggest tools. The athletic cut, L-cut and inside cut are three types of cuts that are demonstrated. All three cuts are useful and unpredictable weapons on the offensive end of the floor. This DVD concludes with Eastman's baseline touch drill, stop cut, 3-on-0 give-and-go, and "Keep away" drill. Keep away puts all teaching points together in an energetic drill that awards points to both the defense and the offense. The serious player and coach can benefit from cutting and moving without the ball. This presentation focuses on taking advantage of the defense, which will allow your team to score more points and add creativity to your practices.

with Tex Winter, Innovator of the Triangle Offense; former Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls Assistant Coach Tex Winter has seen and done it all in the world of basketball! Winter doesn't stake claim as the Triangle Offense's "inventor," but takes tremendous pride in being the Triangle's greatest innovator. In 60 years with the offense, he has developed and modified it to fit many different coaching challenges. The Triangle is assembled piece by piece in this landmark DVD. The Triangle is introduced by Coach Winter's exploration of his seven principles of a sound offense. Tex states that offensive rebounding and defensive balance is a vital part of this offense. Penetration, spacing, ball & player movement, and utilizing individual talents are other highlighted principles. The "Learning the Offense" segment is a template for teaching the offense to young or new players. Tex shares his well-earned wisdom with his six "Good Coaching" concepts. An organized, well-spaced fast break precedes the half court Triangle action. Proper teaching of all five spots is required. "The Moment of Truth" occurs when the defense exerts pressure in the backcourt as they attempt to slow down the fast break. Winter uses on-court players to demonstrate the offense. A featured breakdown drill is the pinch drill, which incorporates shooting, pinch action and two-man game action. Winter dedicates a section of teaching to playing against pressure. Players are instructed specific tasks as they work as a team to get the ball up the floor against pressing teams. Terminology in the Triangle Offense is very important. Terminology and teaching points in this DVD include weak side guard fill, Blind Pig, Squeeze action, Change-up, fan pass, speed cut, lag pass, inside reverse pivot, front turn, baseline reverse pivot, baseline cuts, playing without the ball, 2-man game, screen and roll, dribble hand-off, two-pass post, Dribble entry, Two pass, Four pass, 1st, 2nd, 3rd cutters. Tex Winter "teaches the Triangle Offense" better than anyone in the history of the game of basketball. This DVD will allow you to learn step-by-step the elements that make up this powerful and versatile offense. Your players can learn to make the same reads, cuts and shots as Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant did in their Tex Winter-influenced NBA careers. Join the legions of coaches worldwide that win consistently with this one-of-a-kind basketball offense. No DVD can or ever will rival this complete examination of the famous Triangle Offense. 295 minutes. 2006.

The art of shooting is viewed from five different angles; getting open, using screens, the jab series, dribble moves and free throws.
