with John Cohen, Mississippi St. Head Baseball Coach; named the 2006 Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year and National Coach of the Year by the College Baseball Foundation and CollegeBaseballinsider.com while serving as head coach at Kentucky. Let John Cohen show you how to take the complex and make it simple for you as a hitter or as a coach. 40 Hitting Drills to Help You Find Your Best Swing is a collection of his very best drills that he uses every day with the Mississippi State hitters. The drills are great to use with your entire team if you are a coach, or for you to use on your own if you are a hitter. Coach Cohen believes that ball players improve the most when they are working on their own - without a coach or parent correcting every little detail. Coach Cohen instills just a few simple ideas to keep in mind: have the head tracking the ball and store up your energy and release it as efficiently as possible right back up the middle. The batter can execute all of these drills and instantly see if they are getting those results. The athlete will figure out how to make the adjustments to get the results, and while doing so, he or she is correcting any swing flaws without having to even think about it! All of the drills included on the DVD have a precise purpose to address one or more aspects of a successful swing. Here is what is covered in the drills: warm-up drills that help the player load up their energy and release it right back up the middle with efficiency tee drills that build a foundation for transferring all of the body's energy most effectively into the ball tee drills that put hitters in uncomfortable situations where they have to figure out how to make the adjustments to produce results drills to free up the lower body drills to keep the upper body relaxed and loose simple drills to end bat wrap drills to keep the bat on plane with the pitch throughout the hitting zone, conquering a severe upper cut or downward stroke drills that keep the player aligned to maximize their transfer of energy right back up the middle short toss drills with variations that help hitters make the adjustment between a fastball and any off-speed pitch Every hitter has their own unique style and that no one swing is the perfect swing. That's why it's 40 Hitting Drills to Help You Find YOUR Best Swing and not 40 Hitting Drills to Help You Find THE Best Swing. Each player is different and the drills work no matter what their particular style is. 48 minutes. 2009.

with Tex Winter, Innovator of the Triangle Offense; former Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls Assistant Coach Tex Winter has seen and done it all in the world of basketball! Winter doesn't stake claim as the Triangle Offense's "inventor," but takes tremendous pride in being the Triangle's greatest innovator. In 60 years with the offense, he has developed and modified it to fit many different coaching challenges. The Triangle is assembled piece by piece in this landmark DVD. The Triangle is introduced by Coach Winter's exploration of his seven principles of a sound offense. Tex states that offensive rebounding and defensive balance is a vital part of this offense. Penetration, spacing, ball & player movement, and utilizing individual talents are other highlighted principles. The "Learning the Offense" segment is a template for teaching the offense to young or new players. Tex shares his well-earned wisdom with his six "Good Coaching" concepts. An organized, well-spaced fast break precedes the half court Triangle action. Proper teaching of all five spots is required. "The Moment of Truth" occurs when the defense exerts pressure in the backcourt as they attempt to slow down the fast break. Winter uses on-court players to demonstrate the offense. A featured breakdown drill is the pinch drill, which incorporates shooting, pinch action and two-man game action. Winter dedicates a section of teaching to playing against pressure. Players are instructed specific tasks as they work as a team to get the ball up the floor against pressing teams. Terminology in the Triangle Offense is very important. Terminology and teaching points in this DVD include weak side guard fill, Blind Pig, Squeeze action, Change-up, fan pass, speed cut, lag pass, inside reverse pivot, front turn, baseline reverse pivot, baseline cuts, playing without the ball, 2-man game, screen and roll, dribble hand-off, two-pass post, Dribble entry, Two pass, Four pass, 1st, 2nd, 3rd cutters. Tex Winter "teaches the Triangle Offense" better than anyone in the history of the game of basketball. This DVD will allow you to learn step-by-step the elements that make up this powerful and versatile offense. Your players can learn to make the same reads, cuts and shots as Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant did in their Tex Winter-influenced NBA careers. Join the legions of coaches worldwide that win consistently with this one-of-a-kind basketball offense. No DVD can or ever will rival this complete examination of the famous Triangle Offense. 295 minutes. 2006.

Cutting Edge Speed and Agility Base Movement DVD. In the initial phase of training for any athlete, entry-level drills should focus on; static and dynamic balance, foot speed and coordination, force reduction, first step quickness, base agility, linear speed mechanics, and base conditioning. Likewise Base Movement Training is the foundation of Coach Norman's Movement Progression Training philosophy. Most athletes, coaches, and trainers overlook this phase of training as they fail to develop the fundamental abilities of body control and "oneness" in their athletes. It is this phase of training that prepares the athlete for the more intense and advanced training routines required to optimize performance, and without it, athletes will either limit their success and/or sustain unwarranted injuries. Coach Norman utilizes a structured approach to teach a proven system of training methodology for overall athletic development. In addition to a detailed explanation of Base Stance Mechanics, the viewer will learn numerous drills performed with the agility ladder, low hurdles, plyometric boxes, various cone drills, weighted sleds and much more. Mostly, you will learn how to effectively incorporate a variety of training components safely into your program, with the confidence and knowledge required to initiate the appropriate performance training process with any multi-sport athlete. Although considered entry-level within Norman's system of performance enhancement, the drills in this video are challenging and intense, and greatly improv. Base Movement. . .

with Mary Wise, University of Florida Head Coach; Mary Wise and her team of coaches at the University of Florida provide a court-side seat to the first three practices of their 2011-12 season. Watch as they introduce their system and vocabulary to the new team members and refresh those concepts with the returning athletes in a live practice setting. Through all three practices, the drills and teaching are upbeat and develop the Florida system of play in an incremental, step-by-step approach. Day 1: See the benefits of incorporating floor moves in your practice Teach the eye sequence necessary to be in the right spot to make a play Learn a variety of sets and the necessary timing needed to execute each In the first practice of Day 1, Coach Wise and her staff jump right in with partner drills that work on individual and specific defensive moves. The day progresses into an area that all coaches talk about: Communication. Coach Wise does a great job of incorporating this skill in her 4 vs. 4 drill. She creates a situation that forces the players to communicate until it becomes a habit. The players then work on serve and serve receive, an area that all coaches know is necessary in order to have a successful season. Practice 2 of Day 1 starts with a core workout on the gym floor. This part of practice focuses on the offense and defense at the net. The players then move into an eye sequence segment. Seeing and processing what is happening on the other side of the net. Then the hitters are introduced to the different sets (location, tempo, angles to attack) found in the Gators offensive system. The day ends with a "dig or die" drill that emphasizes getting a hand on all balls on defense. Day 2: Learn the proper way to make a good defensive read and a quality dig Learn the Yes or No Swing Drill to teach your players when to go for the big hit and when to turn a bad ball into a quality swing Improve your passing accuracy with footwork and platform angles The first practice of Day 2 focuses on defense and defensive reads. A lot of digging and digging concepts are introduced, with the team breaking into smalls groups to really focus on individual technique. Outside hitters work on passing from the left side of the court and getting into their hitting route. At the end of practice the team goes through the 4 vs. 4 Communication Drill. The second practice focuses on passing and serve receive. A lot of instruction is given on how to pass by moving the feet, seeing the ball's trajectory from the server before it crosses the net and creating the perfect angle to target. Also, in this practice the Yes or No Swing Drill is introduced. A great drill to teach your players when to go for the big hit and when to turn a bad ball into a quality swing. Each drill builds on the previous drill and progressively integrates the communication elements with the skills. Day 3: Learn the defensive scheme and system that has propelled the Gators to success Learn different 6 vs. 6 drills with various scoring options to bring a certain level of focus to the practice session Get different serving drills to develop aggressive and accurate serves Day 3 starts with serving. All players rotate through three courts, with each court having its own focus. Team defense is introduced with a lot of instruction and guidance from the Gator staff. The defensive system is established with each player's responsibilities and then the team is put into various team defensive drills where coaches give a lot of feedback based on the situation. In this practice the team is place in 6 vs. 6 team drills with different scoring methods to emphasize a certain focus. This is a great way to get players to put themselves in better position to be successful. 263 minutes. (3 DVDs). 2012.

He begins by offering 10 teaching tips for the proper passing fundamentals; Stance, release and catching. Because the game is so quick, passing against pressure is very important. The concept of "Pressure Vision," "Foot Fighting" and the "Sweep Pivot" are all combined with a passer's ability to read the defense. Drills are categorized by one man, two man, three man, four man and team drills. Other drills, such as the Jason Williams Series, the Jason Kidd Series and the Steve Nash Series, are specific to the skills of each NBA player as to how they use their skills to "Thread the Needle." Baker emphasizes that any of these drills can be done with just a ball, a wall and a willing player who wants to improve his game. This presentation concludes with five team drills that combine many of the individual or small group drills previously illustrated. These team drills emphasize passing and catching skills in a competitive team setting. Without the ability to pass, a player will be left behind in the basketball world today. Whether you are a junior high, high school, or professional player, each of these drills has a specific value. Use this DVD to identify your weaknesses and work hard to improve them. When players apply the passing skills of Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, and Jason Williams, they can elevate to new area of player development. with Chris Mack, Xaiver University Head Coach; 2009-10 Basketball Times Rookie Coach of the Year, 2010 Sweet 16; tied the school record for the most wins ever by a Xavier rookie head coach (26). With this all access pass, you get the opportunity to watch Chris Mack and the Xavier Musketeers build on their Sweet 16 performance from the 2009-10 season. This DVD contains the first four practices of the 2010-11 season. See what it means to do things "the Xavier way!" Throughout the video, you will see the emphasis of competing every day, demonstrating box toughness, and working on the little details that will set your program apart. In addition, Mack demonstrates various transition drills on both offense and defense, half-court defensive drills focusing on closing out and "walling up," and the breakdown of the ball-screen offense. Pre-Practice & Warm-Ups: Assistant coaches take the court with the players to get them loose both mentally and physically. Practices begin with the "daily dozen," consisting of drills to attack the basket. Defensive System: Coach Mack emphasizes the packline pressure defense, keeping the ball out of the middle, relying on excellent help defense and communication. Learn how he builds his defense with individual and team defensive drills, highlighting drills designed on close-outs, building walls, closing all gaps, and jumping to the ball. Rounding out team defense drills, Mack incorporates triangle block-outs and WAR rebounding to replicate game situations. Mack also gives his players a plan on how to defend middle and side ball screens, pin down screens and back screens Transition Offense: Teach your players how to put constant pressure on the defense with these transition drills. Watch the flow of the ball screen offense take shape in their 4-on-4 Baseline Touch drill, leading to many wide open three-point shot attempts and easy lay-ups. Offense: Mack shares his ball screening continuity offense. This offense allows players to flow into ball screening situations on the side and middle while looking to get great drives at the basket and dribble drive kick outs. Getting the basketball into the post is heavily emphasized with this offense as players can ball screen and dive to get a deep pin inside the lane. Mack passes along some of his set plays that go into the flow continuity offense and side out of bounds plays. Special Situations: Learn Coach Mack's philosophy in regards to jump ball situations, free-throw alignments, timeout huddles, low shot-clock situations, and sideline out-of-bounds plays. These concepts can guarantee an increase in efficiency for your team. See what it means to play hard and compete at a championship level every season. Purchase this DVD and implement the techniques that Chris Mack teaches and you will see why he was the winningest first-year head coach in Division I in 2009-10. 462 Minutes. 2011.

For over 20 years, Dennis Nobles has helped train long jump athletes to All-American levels. In this instructional DVD, Coach Nobles utilizes the 2006 National Champion athlete to show athletes at all levels the finer points of the triple jump. Speed on the runway is the key to the triple jump, and the starting point for Nobles. The first step is the most variable and critical to the jump. Nobles encourages athletes to set a first step check mark to remain consistent with the initial step. Your runway spring is vital to how far you will jump and is a consistent emphasis by Nobles. When approaching the board, stability, balance and velocity are the major factors he teaches. Use of arms at takeoff can also determinuitese your end result. The three distinct jumps are also seen as one individual entity. Instead of the hitch kick at the end, the hang technique is used. The hang is a way to slow the natural rotation of the body for maximum distance. Nobles also focuses on strength training, warm-up, and stretching exercises, all important to the jumper's ultimate success.
