Mansinthe was awarded a gold medal out of a group of 10 abs
... Read more
Mansinthe was awarded a gold medal out of a group of 10 absinthes entered into the largest and most important spirits competition in the USA. The results of the professional tasting event 'shocked' the amateur panel from an earlier attempt at judging the Mansinthe. The stark difference between the trained palette of a professional spirits taster and that of unqualified bloggers, demonstrates why consumers should be wary of accepting the tasting opinion of unskilled amateurs. The traditional herbal liqueur of absinthe is currently celebrating a huge renaissance. The international demand for the official Marilyn Manson absinthe, 'Mansinthe', has surprised even Markus Lion from ABSINTHE.DE. He developed the liqueur together with the American shock rocker and a well-known specialist Swiss distillery.Teningen, 20th August 2007. Absinthe was invented at the end of the 18th century, in Val-de-Travers in the Swiss province of Jura. It is traditionally made of vermouth, aniseed, fennel and a range of other herbs. In the mid 19th century, absinthe was the drink of Bohemia. Artists such as Ernest Hemingway, Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Vincent van Gogh regarded 'the green fairy' as a source of inspiration. The same is true for Marilyn Manson, who has been known as an absinthe lover for many years. In July 2007, together with Markus Lion from ABSINTHE.DE and multiple award-winning Swiss speciality distillery Matter-Luginbuhl AG, he launched his own absinthe, which is called 'Mansinthe'.Manson intensely involved in the development'Two years after the initial idea to do develop an absinthe together with Marilyn Manson, it was finished', Markus Lion looks back. 'Manson was intensely involved in the development, constantly tasting the samples, giving his opinion and providing suggestions for changes. When he was completely satisfied with a prototype, the final implementation was swift.' The artist, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, presented his 'Mansinthe' at the private viewing of his exhibition in Galerie Schenk in Cologne, on 27th June 2007. There, a limited special edition of Mansinthe was sold at prices of between 300 Euro and 500 Euro - all numbered and with a special label of a watercolour by Marilyn Manson. Just like prototype 35 (a previous version), this collectors' piece quickly sold out.In order to deliver orders from Germany, Australia, England, Italy, France, Austria, Spain and the Netherlands on time, the Matter-Luginbuhl family business has expanded its capacity. 'We had to interrupt our summer holidays - we have never known such a huge run on one drink', reported Nicole and Oliver Matter. Even the initiator, Markus Lion from ABSINTHE.DE in Teningen, who is looking after international sales, was surprised by the demand. 'Various factors are responsible: as an artist, Manson likes to be connected with absinthe and, at the same time, products developed Matter-Luginbuhl and myself are highly acclaimed internationally.Natural absinthe with no artificial colouringsMatter-Luginbuhl distillery specialises in the production of absinthe in accordance with 19th century recipes: in its class, Absinthe Duplais Verte was awarded the title of liqueur of the year in Switzerland and it won the gold medal and best in class rating at the oldest and most prestigious competition - IWSC in London.Mansinthe is a natural absinthe, distilled from vermouth, aniseed, fennel and other fine herbs. Naturally, pre-sweetening is avoided and artificial colourings are out of the question for reasons of quality. Oliver Matter characterises Mansinthe as a classic absinthe that absinthe lovers can appreciate, but which primarily appeals to novices.Since 16th July, production of the green herbal liqueur to Manson's specifications has been running in Switzerland at full speed. In many places, the drink is still associated with a dubious reputation, as absinthe was long considered to be a hallucin

Our Cachaca, Leblon, is distilled at our own state-of-the-art distillery, Maison Leblon, in the fertile Minas Gerais region. Our approach to Cachaca is unique: Gilles Merlet, our master distiller, approaches the fermentation, distillation, and finishing of Cachaca like a fine wine. Using techniques from his native land of France, Gilles manages every detail of the creation - from the hand-selection of the cane and his proprietary fermentation approach, to the Alambique batch-distillation and light-casking, triple-filtering, and master-blending. Gilles rests the final distillate in XO Cognac casks from France, giving Leblon an extra-special touch. As a result, Leblon Cachaca has a delicate, fruity nose, combined with an ultra smooth finish. So, now that you understand what Cachaca is, how to say it, and how to use it, we invite you to explore this wonderful new world.. 92. Faint straw color. Coconut custard, baked apple, and mellow spice aromas. A round, smooth entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body of coconut cream cake, vanilla bean, banana leaf, and peppery spice. Finishes with a long, smooth white toffee, spicy baked banana and oily mineral fade. Very nice and rounded. (Beverage Tasting Institute)2007 Double Gold Awards Winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition2008 Gold Medal International Rum Festival. 40% ABV. Leblon traps a light ”rummy” bouquet with fruity and tequila-like herbal notes. Leblon has a smooth entry, with pleasing layers of fruity cane and spices; all in a clean silky texture. With a creamy full body, Leblon exhibits a spice box with toasty vanillas that create a creme brule and for some, hints of butterscotch. The spirit warms in the mouth and leaves a gentle sweetness in the middle of the tongue that flowers as it lasts, much like a refined tequila. For such a lively spirit, the warm, velvety finish is a lasting surprise. Leblon mixes extremely well with almost any fruit and couples nicely with other ingredients from herbs to liqueurs. It can also be sipped chilled as it is the most pure of the white cachacas. Liquor CACHACA

Beer Pager - Golfer It began with a Memorial Day party when two friends set their beers down by the BBQ for a spirited game of Cornhole, a beanbag tossing game that builds quite a thirst. Parched, our heroes returned to the grill only to be confronted with 7 open beers. Tragically, they did not know which beer was their own. In a life changing moment of inspiration, one of these men said, “If only beers came with alarms so we could beep em and find em, like when you lose your car in a parking lot.” This ingenious thought was greeted with hilarious laughter. Once the laughing died down the two men realized this was a gift that needed to be shared with the rest of the world. You’ll never FORE-get with our Golf Beer Pager. But if you do, you’ll be greeted to the sounds of a ricocheting golf shot miraculously landing in the hole when you click the handy pocket sized remote. It’s the perfect miss. He’ll love it!
