The Seagate Momentus XT is an innovative 2.5 hybrid hard drive that combines the best features of a traditional hard drive with a solid state one. The Seagate Momentus XT STAN 500100 has 500 GB of memory which is augmented by 4GB of flash NAND memory. A special algorithm hard coded as the Adaptive Memory feature in the Seagate Momentus XT analyses software access statistics and dedicates the NAND capacity for these files. The result is a 7200 rpm hybrid hard drive which performs up to 80% faster.
