Denosyl and Marin support the liver through differing actio
... Read more
Denosyl and Marin support the liver through differing actions and may be used individually or in combination. Denamarin is one such patented combination liver supplement for dogs and cats containing both pure and stabilized S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe) and silybin-phosphatidylcholine complex. Both SAMe and silybin have been shown to markedly increase levels of antioxidants formed when cats and dogs metabolize it. Silybin also helps with liver cell regeneration and enhances levels of glutathione, the liver’s major “detoxifying” agent. Denamarin has no known side-effects. Directions for Use: Tablets should be given on an empty stomach at least one hour before a meal for optimal absorption ( overnight fast preferred). For owners who find it difficult to administer tablets to their pets, Denamarin tablets may be disguised in a small bite of food. The number of tablets administered may be gradually reduced, or increased, at any time at the recommendation of your veterinarian. For pets up to 12 lbs. = 1 tablet per day Storage: Store in a cool dry place. Keep tablets in original blister pack until used. Tablets are sensitive to moisture and extreme heat and should not be split or crumbled. How does Denamarin work? When liver function is compromised, the exact cause can often be difficult to determine. Supporting the liver, regardless of the cause, is essential to keep it working properly. Administering SAMe (S-Adenosylmethionine), which is found in Denamarin, has been shown to markedly increase liver levels of glutathione,1,2 an important compound for liver health formed when SAMe is metabolized. The SAMe in Denamarin has also been shown to help protect liver cells from cell death3,4 and may help cell repair and regeneration.5 Denamarin also helps support your pet’s liver through the administration of silybin. Silybin is an active part of an extract from milk thistle, known as silymarin, and has been shown to support liver function by helping maintain a healthy oxidative balance. The new chewable tablets of Denamarin allow dogs to receive SAMe and silybin in a tasty treat, eliminating the need to "pill" your dog daily. Additionally, the chewable tablets allow for quicker uptake of the SAMe and less variability between dogs when compared to enteric-coated tablets. While best known for supporting the liver in dogs and cats Denamarin also has a place in supporting brain health. Research is looking into dog aging and associated decreases in levels of S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe) in cerebrospinal fluid, which surrounds the brain. Denamarin provides SAMe in a stabilized form to help with brain health and act as a neuroprotector. Denamarin also provides a bioavailable form of silybin which supports oxidative balance. Denamarin has no known serious side-effects. Your veterinarian can evaluate the length of support needed through follow-up examinations, blood work, and/or other laboratory work. At home, watch for improvements in your pet’s attitude, appetite, and activity level.

Capstar (nitenpyram) Tablets for Dogs and Cats Directions: A single dose of CAPSTAR should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. To give CAPSTAR Tablets, place the pill directly in your pet's mouth, or hide it in food. If you hide the pill in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to give a second pill. Treat all infested pets in the household. Fleas can reproduce on untreated pets and allow infestations to persist. Active Ingredients: CAPSTAR Tablets contain 11.4 or 57.0 mg of nitenpyram, which belongs to the chemical class of neonicotinoids. Nitenpyram kills adult fleas. Warnings: Not for human use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Dosage: CAPSTAR Tablets should be administered according to the following schedule. Weigh your pet prior to administration to ensure proper dosage. Do not administer to pets under 2 pounds. Recommended Dosage Schedule Weight (lb) Tablets Cats and dogs up to 25 lb 1 tablet of CAPSTAR 11.4mg Dogs over 25 lbs 1 tablet of CAPSTAR 57.0mg Adverse Reactions: Laboratory and clinical studies showed that CAPSTAR Tablets are safe for use in dogs, cats, puppies and kittens 4 weeks of age and older and 2 pounds of body weight or greater. Other Information: CAPSTAR Tablets begin working within 30 minutes. In studies, CAPSTAR achieved greater than 90% effectiveness against adult fleas on dogs within 4 hours and cats within 6 hours. CAPSTAR Tablets are safe for pregnant or nursing dogs and cats. When using this product, you may notice that your dog or cat will start scratching itself as fleas begin to die. The scratching behavior is temporary and is a reaction to the fleas, not the drug. CAPSTAR Tablets kill adult fleas that cause flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). CAPSTAR Tablets may be used together with other products, including heartworm preventives, corticosteroids, antibiotics, vaccines, de-worming medications, shampoos and other flea products. Flea Infestations on Dogs and Cats: In addition to the common nuisance irritations associated with infestations, fleas can be responsible for skin conditions in your pet such as flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) in the dog and miliary dermatitis in the cat. Also, fleas transmit other parasites, including tapeworms. The control of flea infestations is important to your pet's health and also reduces the problems associated with these parasites. CAPSTAR Tablets do not have an effect on fleas in the pet's environment. You may need to treat more than one time because immature fleas in and around the home will continue to develop into adults that can reinfest your pet. Alternatively, you can treat your pet or environment with an insect growth regulator or you can treat your pet with an insect development inhibitor. Both insect growth regulators and insect development inhibitors act by preventing the development of immature stages of the flea. This will prevent fleas from reinfesting your pet. Laboratory studies have shown that CAPSTAR Tablets can be used safely with lufenuron. The following diagram illustrates the flea's life cycle and where CAPSTAR Tablets work: Fleas can be a problem because they reproduce so rapidly. A single female flea may produce up to 2,000 eggs over her lifetime. Eggs hatch and can develop into adults within only three weeks. Adult female fleas feed by ingesting blood from your pet and subsequently lay eggs, which drop off your pet's coat. Within days, larvae hatch from the eggs and live undetected in your pet's surroundings, such as the carpet, bedding and other protected areas. Flea larvae spin a cocoon, and, when appropriately stimulated, a young adult flea emerges and jumps onto your pet to continue the life cycle. When these new fleas are seen on your pet, treat with CAPSTAR Tablets. After reading this insert, if you have any quest

ProtectaCell Cancer Support Formula Nutrient & Antioxidant Supplement For Cats & Dogs You probably know that many breeds are predisposed to certain diseases, such as arthritis in German Shepherds, skin disease in Laboradors, cancer in Golden Retrievers or heart disease in Boxers. Studies suggest that key supplemental nutrients may support the body's ability to maintain good health. ProtectaCell combines a high level of omega-3 fatty acids with antioxidants and amino acids for nutritional support in pets predisposed to, diagnosed with, or recovering from cancer or heart disease. You probably know that many breeds are predisposed to certain diseases, such as arthritis in German Shepherds, skin disease in Laboradors, cancer in Golden Retrievers or heart disease in Boxers. Illness-induced loss of appetite is common in pets. Decreased food intake contributes to impaired immune response, so nutritional therapy is important. Because cancer changes the way the body utilizes food, even if a pet is eating normally, they can still lose weight and muscle mass. Animal studies suggest that omega-3 fatty acids may prevent or reduce cancer-related weight loss, appetite loss, and muscle wasting, collectively known as cachexia. Talk to your veterinarian about how you might improve your pet's appetite without causing them additional stress. Studies in humans and animals suggest a relationship between aging and cancer. If you feel that your older pet may be at risk of developing cancer or heart disease, ProtectaCell can be used as a daily supplement in healthy older pets. While there is no guarantee of prevention, the increased concentrations of fatty acids, amino acids and antioxidants and potential strengthening of the immune defenses may provide a less favorable environment for cancer cells to thrive. ProtectaCell is a combination of the following compounds. Research suggests that the simultaneous activities of such compounds are more beneficial than that of each on its own. Nourish the Cells to Protect the Body With ProtectaCell Recommended Usage: 1-20 lbs 1 tablet per day 21-40 lbs 2 tablets per day 41-90 lbs 3 tablets per day 90+ lbs 4 tablets per day Tablets may be crumbled and sprinkled on food, or mixed with a small amount of wet food to help with administration. The tablets can be divided and given in the morning and evening. It is recommended that use is discontinued at least one day before, during and one day after chemotherapy or radiation therapy. ProtectaCell - Supportive Supplement For Cancer and Heart Patients Inflammation and excessive oxidative damage can lead to genetic mutations in susceptible cells. Micronutrients found in ProtectaCell have been shown to reduce inflammation and oxidative damage, and are intended to preserve the genetic integrity of cells, provide nourishment, and improve the immune system's response to conventional cancer therapy. Nutritional therapy is most effective when started early, before carbohydrate and protein stores are depleted, and may support healthy metabolism even once the animal is in remission. Research has shown that alterations in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fat do not normalize after surgical elimination of the disease. Supplemental omega-3 fatty acids are important for several reasons. High amounts of hormones and enzymes are produced during the transformation of normal cells into cancer cells. As a result, fatty acids in the cell membranes are replaced with cholesterol, which is resistant to attack by the immune system. Omega-3 fatty acids can prevent and help resolve inflammation,

Even at younger ages some dogs are subject to joint health concerns which affect flexibility and mobility. Cosequin DS double strength capsules are available in 90 and 120 count sizes. QUINICARN L-Carnitine Supplement Quinicarn is a nutritional supplement for cats and dogs, providing active L-carnitine. The requirements of L-carnitine on cats and dogs are increased in conditions of physiological and metabolic stress. Easy Administration Individual packets provide stability and easy dispensing of L-carnitine in a water soluble powder formulation Apply directly to your cat’s or dog’s food Natural Chicken Flavor L-carnitine in a non-acidic form to eliminate typical sour taste found in many other L-carnitine products Cats and Dogs love it! L-Carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid which plays a vital role in the metabolism of fat. Its a nutrient that helps the body turn fat into energy by functioning as a transporter of fatty acids into the mitochondria, the metabolic furnace of the cell. Carnitine it is produced primarily in the liver and kidneys from the amino acids lysine or methionine and stored in the skeletal muscles, heart, brain, and sperm.. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is essential to the synthesis of carnitine. During growth or pregnancy the requiremnt of carnitine might exceed its natural production. Usually, the body can make all the carnitine it needs. Some pets, however, may be deficient in carnitine because their bodies cannot make enough carnitine or transport it into tissues so it can be used. Some other conditions, such as heart disease, can also cause insufficient carnitine in the body. Carnitine has been proposed as a treatment for many conditions because it helps reduce oxidative stress. Administration: For dogs and cats, give 1-2 packets per day or as directed by your veterinarian. Sprinkle directly on your pet’s food. Each Packet Contains: L-carnitine 250 mg

Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet Fish Oil Supplement for Dogs & Cats Omega-3 Fatty Acid Oil Derived From 100% Wild Anchovies and Sardines Fish Body Oil High Levels of DHA and EPA per Serving Encapsulated for Convenient Use Distilled for Purity For centuries, pet diets consisted of natural, unprocessed foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids derived from fish, algae, and plants. The health-promoting Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil are EPA and DHA. They are important for supporting healthy skin, coat, joints, brain, heart, and eye health, as well as a pet’s energy level. While research indicates that a ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 of 5:1 to 10:1 is optimal for dogs, many pet foods contain primarily Omega-6 fatty acids from vegetable oils. This results in a highly unbalanced ratio dominated by Omega-6. Some canine and feline diets may include Omega-3 fatty acids; however, virtually none include satisfactory amounts of the most important Omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA. In line with pet recommendations in Scandinavia, we feel it is crucial to give pets quality fish oil every day. Nordic Naturals Omega-3 fish oils (EPA and DHA) promote your patient’s health by supporting: optimal cellular health skin and coat health moisture retention in skin joint health heart health brain development and maintenance eye development and maintenance retinal and visual cortex energy production All natural vitamin A supports: vision, growth, immune function and fetal development. Angels' Eyes Tear Stain Supplement Product Description: ANG
... Read more
Angels' Eyes Tear Stain Supplement Product Description: ANGELS' EYES PRODUCT DETAILS Angels' Eyes is the first product specifically developed for BOTH DOGS & CATS to eliminate unsightly tear stains from the inside out! Other products are topical requiring high maintenance and yet will only remove the tear stains temporarily causing it to return worse than before. Angels' Eyes starts working before the tear stains begin and never adds food dyes or wheat which can have negative effects on your pet. Sizes: 30 gm (1 oz); 120 gm (4oz), for multiple dog or cat owners. Directions: Just sprinkle Angels' Eyes daily on regular food. After 3 months, reduce it to 4 times a week. After 6 months, reduce it further to twice a week. Puppies (up to 3 months): 1/8 tsp. daily ? Dogs 8 to 12 lbs: 3/4 tsp. daily ? Dogs 2 to 5 lbs: 1/4 tsp. daily ? Dogs 12 lbs & up: 1 tsp. daily ? Dogs 5 to 8 lbs: 1/2 tsp. daily Kittens (up to 3 months): 1/8 tsp. daily ? Kittens 2 to 5 lbs: 1/4 tsp. daily ? Cats 5 to 8 lbs: 1/2 tsp. daily ? Cats 8 to 12 lbs: 3/4 tsp. daily ? Cats 12 lbs & up: 1 tsp. daily As you keep trimming the stained areas, the newly grown coat will be totally clear. The growth pattern of your pet's coat will determine if it will be completely tear stain free anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks. Angels' Eyes is very palatable but in rare cases they may not like changes to their food and not eat enough. If this happens you can put Angels' Eyes in their water. When mixing, add the water to Angels' Eyes. Do not pour the powder into the water. Angels' Eyes is safe during pregnancy and for puppies over 6 weeks old. Ingredients: 100% pure beef liver, tylosin as tartrate Many people wonder why some dogs and cats eyes water, which causes a stain on the fur just below their eyes. This condition is called epiphora. When the facial hair is wet from excess tearing it is the breeding ground for bacteria and yeast. Not only is it unsightly but may be very irritating to your pet. The staining may also emit a moderate to noticeably strong odor. Up until now these reddish brown stains due to tear pigments were hard to eliminate completely. Tear staining can be traced to health and diet, as well as genetics. Here are some helpful tips to improve your pets well being: Keep your Pet Healthy: Have your pet checked at least twice a year by your veterinarian for ear infections and ear mites, gum infections, common yeast or bacterial infections of the eye (especially Red Yeast) and for clogged tear ducts. Check your Pet?s Diet: Artificial food colorings (dyes), artificial food additives and preservatives, cereals such as wheat can cause allergies in cats and dogs. These allergies can cause tear stains. Also check for face rubbing, licking of front paws, head shaking, and ear inflammations these are other signs of allergies. Water minerals can also add to tear staining. Use bottled or filtered water in a stainless steel bowl. Keep your Pet?s Eyes Clean: Hair in the eyes can cause infections and irritation. Eyelashes can grow at abnormal angles and rub on the eye. Check your pet?s eyes regularly. Also check for collected dust, stray hairs, and dried tears. Any foreign matter in the eye is likely to lead to tear stains. Hygiene: Keep your pet?s eyes clean. Always wash your hands first before touching the area around their eyes. Wash your pet frequently. Always make sure you comb them first before washing to remove any knots or matt?s. Keep the shampoo out of their eyes to avoid irritation. Use ANGELS' EYE?S Daily: It is 100% safe for daily use and guaranteed to clear the tearing better than any other product on the market. For optimal results Angels' Eyes must be used DAILY, as specified in the directions. Once you have ensured your pet's overall health and comfort, use ANGELS? EYES to eliminate any remaining tear stains. To insure that your dog will remain totally stain free, after 3 months, reduce ANGELS' EYES from daily to 4 times a week. Proanthozone 10 For Cats & Small Dogs Proanthozone is a pot
... Read more
Proanthozone 10 For Cats & Small Dogs Proanthozone is a potent, bioflavanol-based antioxidant formula for adult dogs and cats and is indicated for the nutritional management of conditions linked to oxidative stress, such as liver/kidney disease, skin disease, pancreatic and G.I. disorders, cardiovascular disorders and degenerative joint disease (DJD). Also useful as a nutritional support for compromised immune function. Effects of Oxidative Stress on Pets: Free radicals are unstable molecules produced during normal biological processes such as breathing and the digestion of food. Free radicals are also the result of environmental factors including injury or infection. Once active, the free radical strips electrons from the molecules in many body tissues and cells causing oxidative stress. Free radical or oxidative damage has been linked to age related diseases including arthritis, cancer, kidney/liver disorders, immune system dysfunction and heart disease. In fact, aging itself is thought to be due in large part to oxidative disease and its influence over cellular health. Antioxidants grab the highly reactive free radical and either remove it, neutralize it or pass the radical on to another antioxidant. Often, through a cascade of different enzymes, a free radical will pass through the body until it emerges as a harmless substance. Certain nutrients, such as bioflavanol, have the ability to neutralize or quench free radicals. When to give Proanthozone: Bioflavanol is useful as a nutritional support for a variety of conditions. Because oxidative stress affects so many of the body's systems, Proanthozone can be applied in a number of ways. Proanthozone is best used in the form of immune system support. By optimizing immune responses, Proanthozone may protect against many diseases and degenerative conditions, such as skin problems, cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, dental disease, and cataracts. A strong immune system is especially important for older pets. Bioflavanol helps control allergies. Bioflavanol inhibits enzymes that promote histamine release, inflammation, and allergic reactions. This action makes Proanthozone useful for managing allergies and asthma. Bioflavanol helps protect the kidneys & liver from free radical damage. The kidneys and liver are very susceptible to oxidative damage and Proanthozone's powerful antioxidants help protect these vital organs. Bioflavanol is a chondroprotective agent. Bioflavanol protects joint tissues from destructive enzymes released during oxidative stress, such as at the site of an injury. Joint cartilage is mainly composed of collagen, and bioflavanol also helps strengthen these collagen fibers when they are damaged. Veterinarians can use Proanthozone as nutritional support for animals with: Cataracts Skin problems - Anti-histamine effect Cardiovascular disease Surgical incisions or wounds Immune-mediated disease Diabetes/Diabetic retinopathy Kidney disease Pancreatitis Liver disease Dental disease Cancer Vascular problems There are many disorders that can benefit from antioxidants. Studies have shown that oxidative damage to nerves can result in mental deterioration, oxidative damage to joint tissue can result in gait disturbances, and oxidative damage to cardiac tissues can result in cardiac arrhythmia or heart attack. Research has also shown that renal, hepatic, pulmonary, cardiovascular, neurological and ocular diseases can be slowed or prevented with adequate antioxidant therapy. For example, in rabbits, isolated heart muscle has been protected from ischemia/reperfusion injury in the presence of the potent antioxidant bioflavanol, which is the main component in Proanthozone. Research has shown that bioflavanol from grape seed extract inhibits elastase and collagenase enzymes that continually work to break down connective tissue throughout an animal's body. At the same
