STRONGID ® T Pfizer Animal Health (pyrantel pamoate) Equine Anthelmintic Suspension Strongid T is a suspension of pyrantel pamoate in a palatable caramel-flavored vehicle. Each mL contains 50 mg of pyrantel base as pyrantel pamoate. Pyrantel pamoate is a compound belonging to a family classified chemically as tetrahydropyrimidines. It is a yellow, water-insoluble crystalline salt of the tetrahydropyrimidine base and pamoic acid containing 34.7% base activity. ( E )-1,4,5,6-Tetrahydro-1-methyl-2-[2-(2-thienyl) vinyl] pyrimidine 4,4' methylenebis [3- hydroxy-2-naphthoate] (1:1) INDICATIONS FOR USE: For the removal and control of mature infections of large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris, S. edentatus, S. equinus); pinworms (Oxyuris equi); large roundworms (Parascaris equorum); and small strongyles in horses and ponies. DOSAGE AND TREATMENT: Administer 3 mg pyrantel base per lb of body weight (6 mL Strongid T per 100 lb of body weight). For maximum control of parasitism, it is recommended that foals (2-8 months of age) be dosed every 4 weeks. To minimize potential hazard that the mare may pose to the foal, she should be treated 1 month prior to anticipated foaling date followed by retreatment 10 days to 2 weeks after birth of foal. Horses over 8 months of age should be routinely dosed every 6 weeks. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Strongid T may be administered by means of a stomach tube, dose syringe or by mixing into the feed. Stomach Tube: Measure the appropriate dosage of Strongid T and mix in the desired quantity of water. Protect drench from direct sunlight and administer to the animal immediately following mixing. Do not attempt to store diluted suspension. Strongid T is inactive against the common horse bot (Gasterophilus sp.). However, Strongid T may be administered concurrently with carbon disulfide observing the usual precautions with carbon disulfide. Dose Syringe: Draw the appropriate dosage of Strongid T into a dose syringe and administer to the animal. Do not expose Strongid T to direct sunlight. Feed: Mix the appropriate dosage of Strongid T in the normal grain ration. Fasting of animals prior to or following treatment is not required. CAUTION: THIS PRODUCT IS A SUSPENSION AND AS SUCH WILL SEPARATE. TO INSURE UNIFORM RESUSPENSION AND TO ACHIEVE PROPER DOSAGE, IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT THE PRODUCT BE SHAKEN AND STIRRED THOROUGHLY BEFORE EVERY USE. EFFICACY: Critical (worm-count) studies in horses demonstrated that Strongid T administered at the recommended dosage was efficacious against mature infections of Strongylus vulgaris (>90%), S. edentatus (69%), S. equinus (>90%), Oxyuris equi (81%), Parascaris equorum (>90%), and small strongyles (>90%). SAFETY: Strongid T is well tolerated by horses and ponies of all ages. No adverse drug response was observed when dose rates up to 60 mg pyrantel base per lb of body weight were administered by stomach tube nor when 3 mg base per lb was given by intratracheal injection. The reproductive performance of pregnant mares and stud horses dosed with Strongid T has not been affected. WARNINGS: Not for horses or ponies intended for food. Keep out of the reach of children. CAUTION: Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. It is recommended that severely debilitated animals not be treated with this preparation. Virbac Yard Spray Concentrate, 16 oz Yard Spray Concentrat
... Read more
Virbac Yard Spray Concentrate, 16 oz Yard Spray Concentrate is an outdoor yard treatment for fleas and ticks. VIRBAC ® YARD SPRAY CONCENTRATE Virbac Insecticidal EPA Reg. No.: 2382-122 Active Ingredient(s): Esfenvalerate: (S) -cyano (3-phenoxyphenyl) methyl-(S)-4 chloro-alpha- (1-methylethyl) benzeneacetate 0.44% Inert Ingredients 99.56% 100.00% Indications: Residual action insecticide concentrate for use outdoors on residential lawns and around residential premises only to kill fleas and ticks. Kills deer ticks and other Ixodid species that carry and transmit Lyme disease. Directions for Use: It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. To kill fleas and ticks harboring in lawns, backyards, dog kennels and runs, apply Yard Spray Concentrate through the hose end sprayer provided with this product or by compressed air sprayer or watering can. For best results, lawn should be mowed a day or two before spraying. For use with Hose End Spray Applicator: The hose end applicator cap is calibrated to deliver the correct dilution rate, and when attached to this bottle will treat 6000 square feet. To treat smaller areas, stop spraying when the appropriate amount of concentrate has been used (e.g., half the concentrate should be used for a 3000 square foot yard), reclose bottle with original cap and store bottle for next application. Separate mixing of the concentrate or other application equipment is not required. First ensure the hose faucet is turned off. Then screw end of hose into the black end of the sprayer cap. Remove bottle cap (save for closing after use). Secure sprayer cap to bottle by turning bottle counter-clockwise. Turn on faucet. Spray using a slow, even sweeping motion, being sure to cover the entire lawn surface where pets frequent. Spray under ornamentals and trees but avoid soaking young or flowering plants. Flea populations are greatest where the pet spends the most time. Therefore be sure to thoroughly soak these areas (e.g., shaded areas such as underbrushes, trees, porches, inside pet kennel and wherever your pet frequents). Repeat treatment may be necessary at 7 to 14 day intervals. For Compressed Air Sprayer or Watering Can Application: Mix two (2) fluid ounces of the concentrate per one (1) gallon of water and apply at the rate of one (1) gallon of diluted spray per 1000 square feet to surfaces of kennels, exercise runs, patios, on and under porches, crawl spaces and other outdoor areas pets frequent. Precautionary Statements: Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals: Caution: Harmful if swallowed, absorbed through skin or inhaled, causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist and contact with skin, eyes or clothing. In case of contact, flush with plenty of water. Avoid contamination of food or foodstuffs. Do not spray plants used for food or feed. Keep pets and children out of treated area until after spray has dried. Do not spray on animals. Statement of Practical Treatment: If Swallowed: Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately. Do not induce vomiting because of aspiration pneumonia hazard. If in Eyes: Flush with plenty of water. Get immediate medical attention. If Inhaled: Remove victim to fresh air or, if not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. Get medical attention. If on Skin: Wash skin with soap and warm water after use. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If on Clothing: Remove contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. Environmental Hazards: This pesticide is highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water. Drift from treated areas may be hazardous to organisms in adjacent aquatic sites. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. Cats vaccinated IN with Felocell FIP develop a protective immune response and do not become hypersensitized. This practical benefit may be attributed to the temperature-sensitive Felocell FIP vaccine strain, which replicates in the upper respiratory tract, but does not spread systemically at 39°C, the cat's body temperature. DISEASE DESCRIPTION: FIP is a complex disease of cats caused by FIPV, a coronavirus related to transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) of pigs, enteric coronavirus of dogs, and respiratory coronavirus of humans. 1 Although scientists do not completely understand its pathogenesis, they believe that FIP is an immune-mediated disease. FIPV first multiplies in epithelial cells of the upper respiratory tract and intestine. 2 Clinically apparent FIP occurs after the virus crosses the mucosal barrier and spreads throughout the cat in infected macrophages and monocytes. Primary FIP may be mild, consisting of fever and a slight nasal and ocular discharge. While most cats with the primary form of FIP recover, others become chronically infected carriers. Secondary FIP may develop following primary infection and appears in 2 forms: (1) Effusive or wet form, characterized by peritonitis and pleuritis with ascites and pleural effusion, and (2) Noneffusive or dry form, characterized by granulomatous inflammation of various organs and little or no exudate. 3,4 Both forms may appear together. Once clinical symptoms occur, FIP usually takes a fatal course. The most commonly diagnosed clinical manifestation is accumulation of fluid within the peritoneal cavity with progressive, painless enlargement of the abdomen. Infected animals also may experience difficult breathing, have an elevated temperature, appear depressed, and lose weight. Other clinical symptoms, such as ocular involvement, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and renal involvement, are observed occasionally. 5 Exudate obtained from body cavities by paracentesis appears pale yellow or golden in color and is relatively clear. Hemograms of cats with FIP typically indicate a stress response. There may be a mild to moderate anemia and leukocytosis attributed to an increased percentage of neutrophils. FIP most frequently occurs in young cats between the ages of 6 months and 2 years of age. Incidence of disease is also higher in older cats, between 11 and 15 years of age. SAFETY AND EFFICACY: Comprehensive tests were conducted to demonstrate the safety of Felocell FIP. In these tests, Felocell FIP did not cause illness in cats when administered intranasally. It did not cause illness in cats infected with feline leukemia, in cats exposed to feline enteric coronavirus, in dexamethasone-immunosuppressed cats, in nonvaccinated cats that survived FIP challenge, or in kittens. Felocell FIP did not interfere with the developmen

Equi-Block DT Formula, 16 oz Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) is the second stage of a three-part Pain Reduction Program. Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) is the second stage of our three-part Pain Reduction Program. Equi-Block DT was specifically designed to treat long term chronic pain in a more cost-effective manner. It works wonders on horses suffering from debilitating diseases as well as pain stemming from old injuries. Equi-Block DT Formula is a thinner version of Racehorse Strength Equi-Block but no less potent over continued usage. As you well know by now, Capsaicin depletes Substance P. Remove the "P" and you remove the pain. Since the DT Formula is a more liquid product, it delivers lower concentrations of Capsaicin. A regular and consistent application of DT maintains the depletion of Substance P, which is necessary to drastically reduce or eliminate chronic pain altogether. We recommend Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) for the ongoing long-term treatment of recurrent aches and pains associated with arthritis, sprains, strains, or curb and splint pain in horses. DIRECTIONS Use a liberal amount of Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) on the effected areas twice daily (at least), never more than four. Rub in thoroughly and remove excess. If you are not sure where the affected area is, consult your Veterinarian. A good once over in the morning and again in the evening should do it. However, to insure maximum effectiveness in more serious cases, you can increase the application Equi-Block DT to three times daily. Be sure to apply to all sides of the joint when applicable. This will help your animal kick start its active periods. It will also help your animal get its proper rest. Wash your hands thoroughly after each application or wear disposable gloves to apply. Again, avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to open wounds, cuts or abrasions. CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT If you have never used Equi-Block DT Formula on your animal, we suggest you start with Racehorse Strength Equi-Block for the first week, three times daily. Remember to apply to the exact areas of lameness. Then cut back to twice a day in the second week. Finally, in week three, start applying the Equi-Block DT Formula two to three times daily as recommended. You will be amazed at the results! Many people have called us with testimonials outlining the problems of their aging or severely injured horses. They describe how, using Racehorse Strength Equi-Block and Equi-Block DT Formula in combination, after three weeks their animal dramatically improved in both condition and disposition. Every time we help someone with their horse, it makes us feel that much better! RACING AND PERFORMANCE TIPS After each heavy workout, race or performance, rub your animal down with Equi-Block DT Formula. DT is a spectacular rest or sleep aid. Equi-Block DT relieves the animal of the typical aches and pains caused by over-exertion or stress. DT maintains the depletion of Substance P. Less "P" means less pain and more sleep! Be sure to use Super Strength Equi-Tite Liniment on your horse's legs. For those of you in the Snow Belt or colder regions where the temperatures dip, trainers have been using DT as a performance rub for the major muscle groups. The feed back we have been getting is that the animals seem to like the warming sensation cause by the Capsaicin. This warming sensation would normally be too hot in warmer weather conditions. However, it appears that some animals under the colder conditions respond well to the added heat.

D.A.P.⢠helps comfort the puppies and adult dog in stressful situations such as: introduction to visitors or strangers, visits to the veterinarian, moving to new homes, adoption, novel and unpredictable situations leading to phobic reactions. Directions: Instructions for Use: 1. Remove the vial cap. 2. Screw the diffuser onto the vial and gently tighten. 3. Plug the diffuser into an electric socket. Place the D.A.P.⢠Diffuser in the room most used by the dog during the day. Coverage Area: 500-650 sq. ft. One vial lasts approximately four weeks. Duration of use may be adapted according to the recommendations of your veterinarian. Do not place underneath or behind furniture. When plugged in, do not touch the device with metal objects. When plugged in, do not touch the device with wet hands. During and immediately after use, do not touch the device with your hands. The electric device should only be used with this D.A.P.⢠diffuser formulation. Use of another substance may increase the toxicity or flammability of the product. The surfaces of the device reach high temperatures to encourage evaporation of active ingredients - these surfaces should not be touched during use of the product. Warning(s): Keep out of reach of children. In case of contact with eyes, wash them immediately with water and seek the advice of a physician. Avoid contact with the skin. In case of contact with the skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If the product is swallowed, consult a doctor immediately and show him/her the packaging. Discussion: In mammals, lactating females release substances called "appeasing pheromones" the function of which is to reassure the offspring. Canine "appeasing pheromones" are secreted by the sebaceous glands of the intermammary sulcus in the lactating bitch. These pheromones calm the puppy during times of stress and provide reassurance, particularly in unknown environments and when encountering novel experiences. Research has shown that the reassuring properties of these pheromones persist even into adult age. D.A.P.⢠(Dog Appeasing Pheromone) reproduces the properties of the natural "appeasing pheromones" of the bitch. Presentation: Complete Kit Contents: One electric diffuser and 1-48 mL vial. Refill: 1-48 mL vial only.

Witness LH Test Kit, 6 Tests/Box The Witness LH Test provides an accurate, semi-quantitative measurement of canine and feline luteinizing hormone (LH). Identifies the pre-ovulatory LH surge (time of ovulation). Used to distinguish between spayed and intact dogs and cats. Witness LH ® Canine and Feline Luteinizing Hormone Test For the Detection of Serum Luteinizing Hormone I. INTRODUCTION Test Description The Witness LH ® test provides an accurate, semi-quantitative measurement of canine and feline luteinizing hormone (LH). The test is simple to perform and rapidly provides information for the veterinary clinician. This assay, when used in conjunction with in-hospital progesterone testing, identifies the pre-ovulatory LH surge, and thus, the time of ovulation. Witness LH ® may also be used to distinguish between ovariectomized and sexually intact bitches or queens. Indications Identification of the LH surge provides the most accurate means of canine ovulation timing. It may be used for routine breeding situations and is especially recommended in those instances where there are factors present that could adversely affect conception rates. These include: chilled/extended semen breedings, frozen semen breedings, bitches with a history of infertility, breedings with stud dogs with low semen quality, limited access to the stud dog. Identification of bitches and queens that have had their ovaries removed is possible through the detection of luteinizing hormone. Serum concentrations of LH increase after gonadectomy in dogs and cats. Because LH concentrations in serum are < 1ng/mL in sexually intact bitches and queens, except during the LH peak at estrus, it may be assumed that high values in bitches and queens not in estrus are indicative that the ovaries have been removed. Ovulation Timing in the Bitch Since the LH surge may occur within a 24-hour period, it is crucial that daily serum samples are tested. Blood should be drawn every day at approximately the same time beginning the 4th or 5th day of proestrus, or when vaginal cytology approaches 50% cornification (Cornification is defined as cells with a roughened, angulated border with or without a nucleus). A progesterone test should also be performed on the first day of testing to confirm a baseline progesterone level. If testing is started after the onset of estrus, it is likely that the LH surge will have already occurred and cannot be identified in retrospect. Once an increase in LH is identified, Synbiotics recommends that daily serum samples should be tested for progesterone levels. If the detected increase In LH was indeed the actual pre-ovulatory surge, progesterone levels should rise, usually reaching a value above 2 ng/ml within 3 days, and then stay elevated. If progesterone remains low, it indicates that a proestrus fluctuation in LH was identified. Continue daily LH testing until the true LH surge occurs. Note: The Witness LH® test and test interpretation is referenced against the OVUCHECK ® Premate ® . Use of other progesterone tests may require different interpretations to explain test results . II. TEST PRINCIPLES Witness LH® is a luteinizing hormone assay that provides a convenient semi-quantitative measurement of luteinizing hormone levels without special equipment. The test is an immunochromatographic assay that uses gold-conjugated antibodies to give a visual line in the presence of luteinizing hormone. One test device is used for each serum sample to be tested. A control line is included on each test device. Color development of the control line is indicative of proper testing technique. The Witness LH® luteinizing hormone assay allows you to identify the occurrence of the LH surge. A positive result occurs when a line appears in the test area which is of similar or greater intensity than the control line. When this occurs, the LH level in the serum
