Hypoallergenic Essential 6 spot-on is the multi-function skin care of Dermoscent , adapted to all skin and hair types of animals, even the most fragile and sensitive. Formulated with active ingredients of an optimal composition in polyunsaturated fatty acids and an active bio-diffusing agent: essential oils of rosemary, lavender, melaleuca, cedar, oregano, grain oils of hemp and neem, soothing and purifying agents, vitamin E, Essential 6 spot-on has been tested by veterinary dermatologists to ensure extreme tolerance and high product quality for your animals. Omega 6 & 3 Essential Fatty Acids -- Restores hydrolipidic film on skin maintaining optimal hydration. Promotes a Healthy Dermal Ecosystem -- Rebalances dry or oily coat and skin (sebo-regulating). Reduces Scales and Dandruff -- Rich in Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) including linoleic acid. Improves Skin Barrier Function -- Contains antioxidants and essential oils with anti-inflammatory activity. Hydrates and Moisturizes -- Sustains hair growth and diminishes loss outside of seasonal shedding. Deodorizing -- Essential oils provide a pleasant scent and help balance natural cutaneous ecosystem thus controlling undesirable odor. INDICATION: Essential 6 spot-on restores hydrolipidic film of animal skin and maintains its optimal hydration; favors natural cutaneous eco-system balance and reinforces skin deficiencies, especially the epidermal barrier function; purifies and helps diminishing irritations; deodorizes by respecting animalâs natural odor; helps diminishing hair loss and sustaining hair growth; anti-oxidant and anti-free radicals. Spot-On is ideal for dogs and cats with: Dandruff or scales Excessively dry or oily skin Bad odor Adjunctive treatment for recurrent yeast/bacterial infections, atopy and seborrhea Excess shedding or having non-seasonal hair loss. ADVICE FOR USE: Apply one pipette to the skin every week for an initial treatment of 2 consecutive months followed by regular and continuous treatment as long as necessary or at least of one pipette every 2 weeks. Part the coat between the shoulders on the neck until skin is visible. Empty its contents onto the skin at one or 2 spots between the shoulders and neck; thanks to bio-diffusing action, Essential 6 spot-on automatically diffuses over animal body. It is recommended not to bath the animal during the 2 days before and the 2 days following the application. This is because the product diffuses across the sebaceous glands and some natural oils are required to allow this to happen. Note: No incompatibility if combined use with any other spot-on products. Allow two days between applications of different spot-on products. Rabbits and Ferrets: Use the cat dosage on large rabbits (over 5.5 lbs) and 1/2 the cat dosage on small rabbits (2.2-5.5 lbs) and ferrets. Usage Tips: · Think of using Essential 6 spot-on once a week during the rainy period in order to ensure that your pet smell good even after a downpour. · Remember to use Essential 6 spot-on during warmer seasons when your pet stays

Lysodren 500 mg, 100 Tablets Lysodren (Mitotane) is used to treat pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's Disease) and adrenal tumors. Lysodren Miotane Prescriber Highlights - Adrenal cytoxic agent used for medical treatment of pituitary-dependent hy- peradrencorticism Caution: pregnancy, diabetes, and preexisting renal or hepatic disease Adverse Effects: Lethargy, ataxia, wekness, anorexia, vomiting, and/or diarrhea; liver changes possible. Relapses are not uncommon All dogs receiving mitotane therapy should receive additional glucocorticoid supplementation if undergoing a stress (e.g., surgery, trauma, acute illness) Monitoring is mandatorty Avoid human exposure Drug interactions Chemistry Mitotane, also commonly known in veterinary medicine as DDD, is structuarally related to the infamous insecticide, chlorophenothane (DDT). It occurs as a white, crystalline powder with slightly aromatic odor. It is practically insoluble in water and soluble in alcohol. Pharmacology While mitotane is considered an adrenal cytotoxic agent, it apparently can also inhibit adrenocortical function without causing cell destruction. the exact mechan- nisms of action for these are not clearly understood. In dogs with pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism (PDH), mitotane has been dem- onstrated to cause severe, progressive necrosis of the zona fasciculata and zona reticularis . These effects occur quite rapidly (usually within 5-10 days of starting therapy). It has been stated that mitotane spares the zona glomerulosa and therefore aldosterone synthesis is un- affected. This is only partially true, as the zona glomerulosa may also be affected by mi- totane therapy, but it is uncommon for clinically significant effects on aldosterone produc- tion to be noted with therapy. Uses/Indications Inveterinary medicine, mitotane is used primarily for the medical treatment of pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism (PDH), principally in the dog. It has also been used for the palliative treatment of adrenal carcinorma in humans and dogs. Contraindications/Precautions Mitotane is contraindicated in patients known to be hy- persensitive to it. Patients with concurrent diabetes mellitus may have rapidly changing insulin requirements during the initial treatment period. these animals should be closely monitored until they are clinically stable. Dogs with preexisting renal or hepatic disease should receive the drug with caution and with more intense monitoring. some clinicians recommend giving prednisolone at 0.2 mg/kg/day during the initial treatment period (0.4 mg/kg/day to diabetic dogs) to reduce the potential for side effects from acute endogenous steroid withdrawal. Other clinicians have argued that routinely administering steroids masks the clinical markers that signify when the endpoint of ther- apy has been reached and must be withdrawn 2-3 days before ACTH stimulation tests can be done. Since in adequately observed patients, adverse effects requiring glucocorticoid therapy may only be necessary in 5% of patients, the benefits of routine glucocorticoid administration may not be warranted. Dosage Dogs: For medical treatment of pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism (bilateral adrenal hyperplasia): NOTE: The information provided below (in :a and b:) is a synopsis of the authors' treatment protocols. It is strongly recommended to refer to the original refer- ences and read the entire discussion before instituting therapy for the first time. a) Initiate therapy at home (preferably on a Saturday): 50 mg/kg divided twice a day, PO with food. Do not give glucocorticoids, but owner should have a small supply of prednisolone. Give until one of the f

Equi-Block DT Formula, 16 oz Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) is the second stage of a three-part Pain Reduction Program. Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) is the second stage of our three-part Pain Reduction Program. Equi-Block DT was specifically designed to treat long term chronic pain in a more cost-effective manner. It works wonders on horses suffering from debilitating diseases as well as pain stemming from old injuries. Equi-Block DT Formula is a thinner version of Racehorse Strength Equi-Block but no less potent over continued usage. As you well know by now, Capsaicin depletes Substance P. Remove the "P" and you remove the pain. Since the DT Formula is a more liquid product, it delivers lower concentrations of Capsaicin. A regular and consistent application of DT maintains the depletion of Substance P, which is necessary to drastically reduce or eliminate chronic pain altogether. We recommend Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) for the ongoing long-term treatment of recurrent aches and pains associated with arthritis, sprains, strains, or curb and splint pain in horses. DIRECTIONS Use a liberal amount of Equi-Block DT Formula (Daily Treatment) on the effected areas twice daily (at least), never more than four. Rub in thoroughly and remove excess. If you are not sure where the affected area is, consult your Veterinarian. A good once over in the morning and again in the evening should do it. However, to insure maximum effectiveness in more serious cases, you can increase the application Equi-Block DT to three times daily. Be sure to apply to all sides of the joint when applicable. This will help your animal kick start its active periods. It will also help your animal get its proper rest. Wash your hands thoroughly after each application or wear disposable gloves to apply. Again, avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to open wounds, cuts or abrasions. CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT If you have never used Equi-Block DT Formula on your animal, we suggest you start with Racehorse Strength Equi-Block for the first week, three times daily. Remember to apply to the exact areas of lameness. Then cut back to twice a day in the second week. Finally, in week three, start applying the Equi-Block DT Formula two to three times daily as recommended. You will be amazed at the results! Many people have called us with testimonials outlining the problems of their aging or severely injured horses. They describe how, using Racehorse Strength Equi-Block and Equi-Block DT Formula in combination, after three weeks their animal dramatically improved in both condition and disposition. Every time we help someone with their horse, it makes us feel that much better! RACING AND PERFORMANCE TIPS After each heavy workout, race or performance, rub your animal down with Equi-Block DT Formula. DT is a spectacular rest or sleep aid. Equi-Block DT relieves the animal of the typical aches and pains caused by over-exertion or stress. DT maintains the depletion of Substance P. Less "P" means less pain and more sleep! Be sure to use Super Strength Equi-Tite Liniment on your horse's legs. For those of you in the Snow Belt or colder regions where the temperatures dip, trainers have been using DT as a performance rub for the major muscle groups. The feed back we have been getting is that the animals seem to like the warming sensation cause by the Capsaicin. This warming sensation would normally be too hot in warmer weather conditions. However, it appears that some animals under the colder conditions respond well to the added heat.

Virbac Yard Spray Concentrate, 16 oz Yard Spray Concentrate is an outdoor yard treatment for fleas and ticks. VIRBAC ® YARD SPRAY CONCENTRATE Virbac Insecticidal EPA Reg. No.: 2382-122 Active Ingredient(s): Esfenvalerate: (S) -cyano (3-phenoxyphenyl) methyl-(S)-4 chloro-alpha- (1-methylethyl) benzeneacetate 0.44% Inert Ingredients 99.56% 100.00% Indications: Residual action insecticide concentrate for use outdoors on residential lawns and around residential premises only to kill fleas and ticks. Kills deer ticks and other Ixodid species that carry and transmit Lyme disease. Directions for Use: It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. To kill fleas and ticks harboring in lawns, backyards, dog kennels and runs, apply Yard Spray Concentrate through the hose end sprayer provided with this product or by compressed air sprayer or watering can. For best results, lawn should be mowed a day or two before spraying. For use with Hose End Spray Applicator: The hose end applicator cap is calibrated to deliver the correct dilution rate, and when attached to this bottle will treat 6000 square feet. To treat smaller areas, stop spraying when the appropriate amount of concentrate has been used (e.g., half the concentrate should be used for a 3000 square foot yard), reclose bottle with original cap and store bottle for next application. Separate mixing of the concentrate or other application equipment is not required. First ensure the hose faucet is turned off. Then screw end of hose into the black end of the sprayer cap. Remove bottle cap (save for closing after use). Secure sprayer cap to bottle by turning bottle counter-clockwise. Turn on faucet. Spray using a slow, even sweeping motion, being sure to cover the entire lawn surface where pets frequent. Spray under ornamentals and trees but avoid soaking young or flowering plants. Flea populations are greatest where the pet spends the most time. Therefore be sure to thoroughly soak these areas (e.g., shaded areas such as underbrushes, trees, porches, inside pet kennel and wherever your pet frequents). Repeat treatment may be necessary at 7 to 14 day intervals. For Compressed Air Sprayer or Watering Can Application: Mix two (2) fluid ounces of the concentrate per one (1) gallon of water and apply at the rate of one (1) gallon of diluted spray per 1000 square feet to surfaces of kennels, exercise runs, patios, on and under porches, crawl spaces and other outdoor areas pets frequent. Precautionary Statements: Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals: Caution: Harmful if swallowed, absorbed through skin or inhaled, causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist and contact with skin, eyes or clothing. In case of contact, flush with plenty of water. Avoid contamination of food or foodstuffs. Do not spray plants used for food or feed. Keep pets and children out of treated area until after spray has dried. Do not spray on animals. Statement of Practical Treatment: If Swallowed: Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately. Do not induce vomiting because of aspiration pneumonia hazard. If in Eyes: Flush with plenty of water. Get immediate medical attention. If Inhaled: Remove victim to fresh air or, if not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. Get medical attention. If on Skin: Wash skin with soap and warm water after use. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If on Clothing: Remove contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. Environmental Hazards: This pesticide is highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water. Drift from treated areas may be hazardous to organisms in adjacent aquatic sites. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. Storage and Disposal: Storage: Store in closed container in a cool, dry place. Disp

This book results from requests from rabbit owners and veterinarians who were seeking reliable, up to date information about skin diseases and their treatment. Material related to rabbits is, indeed, not readily available, or limited to a chapter in rabbit medicine or veterinary books. Here, a comprehensive approach aims at describing a skin disorder and its rabbit-specific clinical signs, diagnosis, and rabbit-safe treatment options. The book chapters deal with rabbit skin anatomy, examination of rabbits, and viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic, mechanical, genetic, hormonal, immune and neoplastic diseases. Pen drawings illustrate the different disorders. The collaboration with a veterinarian and a rabbit owner has contributed to the clarity and the quality of the provided information. Hopefully "Skin Diseases of Rabbits" will appeal to the small animal and exotic practitioner, veterinary students, veterinary nurses, and owners, and become a helpful addition to their handling and treating rabbits.

FELOCELL ® FIP Pfizer Animal Health Feline Infectious Peritonitis Vaccine Modified Live Virus For use in cats only PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Felocell FIP is for intranasal (IN) vaccination of healthy cats 16 weeks of age or older as an aid in preventing feline infectious peritonitis caused by feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV). Felocell FIP contains an attenuated, temperature-sensitive (TS) strain of FIP virus propagated on an established feline cell line. The vaccine is freeze-dried to preserve stability. Cats vaccinated IN with Felocell FIP develop a protective immune response and do not become hypersensitized. This practical benefit may be attributed to the temperature-sensitive Felocell FIP vaccine strain, which replicates in the upper respiratory tract, but does not spread systemically at 39°C, the cat's body temperature. DISEASE DESCRIPTION: FIP is a complex disease of cats caused by FIPV, a coronavirus related to transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) of pigs, enteric coronavirus of dogs, and respiratory coronavirus of humans. 1 Although scientists do not completely understand its pathogenesis, they believe that FIP is an immune-mediated disease. FIPV first multiplies in epithelial cells of the upper respiratory tract and intestine. 2 Clinically apparent FIP occurs after the virus crosses the mucosal barrier and spreads throughout the cat in infected macrophages and monocytes. Primary FIP may be mild, consisting of fever and a slight nasal and ocular discharge. While most cats with the primary form of FIP recover, others become chronically infected carriers. Secondary FIP may develop following primary infection and appears in 2 forms: (1) Effusive or wet form, characterized by peritonitis and pleuritis with ascites and pleural effusion, and (2) Noneffusive or dry form, characterized by granulomatous inflammation of various organs and little or no exudate. 3,4 Both forms may appear together. Once clinical symptoms occur, FIP usually takes a fatal course. The most commonly diagnosed clinical manifestation is accumulation of fluid within the peritoneal cavity with progressive, painless enlargement of the abdomen. Infected animals also may experience difficult breathing, have an elevated temperature, appear depressed, and lose weight. Other clinical symptoms, such as ocular involvement, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and renal involvement, are observed occasionally. 5 Exudate obtained from body cavities by paracentesis appears pale yellow or golden in color and is relatively clear. Hemograms of cats with FIP typically indicate a stress response. There may be a mild to moderate anemia and leukocytosis attributed to an increased percentage of neutrophils. FIP most frequently occurs in young cats between the ages of 6 months and 2 years of age. Incidence of disease is also higher in older cats, between 11 and 15 years of age. SAFETY AND EFFICACY: Comprehensive tests were conducted to demonstrate the safety of Felocell FIP. In these tests, Felocell FIP did not cause illness in cats when administered intranasally. It did not cause illness in cats infected with feline leukemia, in cats exposed to feline enteric coronavirus, in dexamethasone-immunosuppressed cats, in nonvaccinated cats that survived FIP challenge, or in kittens. Felocell FIP did not interfere with the developmen

If a dose is missed and a monthly interval between doses is exceeded, then immediate administration of TRIFEXIS with food and resumption of monthly dosing will minimize the opportunity for the development of adult heartworm infections and flea reinfestations. If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, redose with another full dose. Heartworm Prevention: TRIFEXIS should be administered at monthly intervals beginning within 1 month of the dog's first seasonal exposure and continuing until at least 3 months after the dog's last seasonal exposure to mosquitoes (see EFFECTIVENESS ). TRIFEXIS may be administered year round without interruption. When replacing another heartworm preventative product, the first dose of TRIFEXIS should be given within a month of the last dose of the former medication. There is currently a lot of interest within veterinary medicine in both dermatology and exotics, yet, despite this interest, there is no single text available that focuses on both these key areas. This book, for the first time, provides a practical guide to dermatological problems in birds, reptiles, fish and mammals. Divided into the four groups, each section has a chapter introducing the structure and function of the skin of each group, a chapter on examination and diagnostic tests, and further chapters on species specific skin diseases and treatments.Written in a quick reference format and including almost 200 colour photographs, this book is a handy resource for veterinary practitioners, veterinary students and veterinary dermatologists alike.

Felocell 4, 25 Single Dose Vials A modified live virus vaccine for the protection of cats against Feline Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis, Calici Viruses and Chlamydia. Please Note: This product requires 1- or 2-day expedited shipping. When selecting an express service for your order, UPS 2 Day and Express Mail ship Monday-Wednesday and UPS Overnight ships Monday-Thursday. Please call if Saturday delivery is required. During summer months, purchase of 1 or 2 additional ice packs is advised. FELOCELL ® 4 Pfizer Animal Health Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia-Chlamydia Psittaci Vaccine Modified Live Virus and Chlamydia For use in cats only PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Fellocell 4 is for vaccination of healthy cats as an aid in preventing feline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR) caused by feline herpesvirus-1, feline respiratory disease caused by feline calicivirus (FCV), feline panleukopenia caused by feline parvovirus (FPV), and feline chlamydiosis caused by Chlamydia psittaci . Fellocell 4 contains attenuated strains of feline rhinotracheitis virus, calicivirus, and panleukopenia virus (Johnson Snow Leopard strain), and C. psittaci, propagated on established cell lines. Fellocell 4 is packaged in freeze-dried form with inert gas in place of vacuum. SAFETY AND EFFICACY: Safety of Fellocell 4 was demonstrated in field trials involving 2,288 cats. The majority of cats exhibited no serious postvaccination reactions attributable to the vaccine. However, approximately 1% of vaccinated cats exhibited lethargy, anorexia, and fever after vaccination. (See PRECAUTION 7.) Efficacy of Fellocell 4 was determined by challenge-of-immunity tests. Vaccinated cats experienced significantly less severe clinical signs than nonvaccinated control cats after challenge with virulent FVR virus, FCV, FPV, or C. psittaci . Results of serological studies indicated that no immunologic interference existed among the vaccine fractions. In specific-pathogen-free cats, vaccination with Fellocell 4 stimulated serologic titers to each of the 4 vaccine fractions. DURATION OF SEROLOGIC RESPONSE: In cats vaccinated and boostered as kittens, and then vaccinated again approximately 1 year later, revaccination with Felocell 4 has been demonstrated (under field conditions) to result in serum antibody titers that persist for 12-36 months against FPV (hemagglutination inhibition [HAI] titer > 1:40), FCV (serum neutralization [SN] titer > 1:32) and FHV (SN > 1:16). Protection against infectious agents involves a complex interplay between humoral immunity, cellular immunity, or a combination of both. The purpose of vaccination is to induce effector cells in both these arms of the immune system. During the process, long-term immunity in the form of memory T and B lymphocytes is produced. Memory cells and antibodies interact to provide protection to an animal challenged with the same pathogen at a later date. Depending on the vaccine and the disease, antibodies may be produced that provide complete protection from disease and prevent or reduce shedding. In other cases, antibodies may play a minor or ineffective role and protection from disease relies on systemic, local cellular immunity and/or local antibody production. The role of sustained serological titers in the prevention of disease has not been confirmed. In companion animals, immunological response to infection or vaccination has generally been evaluated by measuring the level of antibodies in serum and correlating these with protection or susceptibility. For certain diseases, such as feline panleukopenia, evaluation of antibody titers can be a valuable diagnostic indicator to determine when revaccination may be needed. 1,2 For other diseases, a serological response has not been identified that correlates with protection. Practical knowledge of the disease, the vaccine and the patient, along with serologic test results when appropriate, is paramount in making the best recommendat

DOSAGE AND TREATMENT: Administer 3 mg pyrantel base per lb of body weight (6 mL Strongid T per 100 lb of body weight). For maximum control of parasitism, it is recommended that foals (2-8 months of age) be dosed every 4 weeks. To minimize potential hazard that the mare may pose to the foal, she should be treated 1 month prior to anticipated foaling date followed by retreatment 10 days to 2 weeks after birth of foal. Horses over 8 months of age should be routinely dosed every 6 weeks. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Strongid T may be administered by means of a stomach tube, dose syringe or by mixing into the feed. Stomach Tube: Measure the appropriate dosage of Strongid T and mix in the desired quantity of water. Protect drench from direct sunlight and administer to the animal immediately following mixing. Do not attempt to store diluted suspension. Strongid T is inactive against the common horse bot (Gasterophilus sp.). However, Strongid T may be administered concurrently with carbon disulfide observing the usual precautions with carbon disulfide. Dose Syringe: Draw the appropriate dosage of Strongid T into a dose syringe and administer to the animal. Do not expose Strongid T to direct sunlight. Feed: Mix the appropriate dosage of Strongid T in the normal grain ration. Fasting of animals prior to or following treatment is not required. CAUTION: THIS PRODUCT IS A SUSPENSION AND AS SUCH WILL SEPARATE. TO INSURE UNIFORM RESUSPENSION AND TO ACHIEVE PROPER DOSAGE, IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT THE PRODUCT BE SHAKEN AND STIRRED THOROUGHLY BEFORE EVERY USE. EFFICACY: Critical (worm-count) studies in horses demonstrated that Strongid T administered at the recommended dosage was efficacious against mature infections of Strongylus vulgaris (>90%), S. edentatus (69%), S. equinus (>90%), Oxyuris equi (81%), Parascaris equorum (>90%), and small strongyles (>90%). SAFETY: Strongid T is well tolerated by horses and ponies of all ages. No adverse drug response was observed when dose rates up to 60 mg pyrantel base per lb of body weight were administered by stomach tube nor when 3 mg base per lb was given by intratracheal injection. The reproductive performance of pregnant mares and stud horses dosed with Strongid T has not been affected. WARNINGS: Not for horses or ponies intended for food. Keep out of the reach of children.
