This book results from requests from rabbit owners and veterinarians who were seeking reliable, up to date information about skin diseases and their treatment. Material related to rabbits is, indeed, not readily available, or limited to a chapter in rabbit medicine or veterinary books. Here, a comprehensive approach aims at describing a skin disorder and its rabbit-specific clinical signs, diagnosis, and rabbit-safe treatment options. The book chapters deal with rabbit skin anatomy, examination of rabbits, and viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic, mechanical, genetic, hormonal, immune and neoplastic diseases. Pen drawings illustrate the different disorders. The collaboration with a veterinarian and a rabbit owner has contributed to the clarity and the quality of the provided information. Hopefully "Skin Diseases of Rabbits" will appeal to the small animal and exotic practitioner, veterinary students, veterinary nurses, and owners, and become a helpful addition to their handling and treating rabbits.

Virbac Yard Spray Concentrate, 16 oz Yard Spray Concentrat
... Read more
Virbac Yard Spray Concentrate, 16 oz Yard Spray Concentrate is an outdoor yard treatment for fleas and ticks. VIRBAC ® YARD SPRAY CONCENTRATE Virbac Insecticidal EPA Reg. No.: 2382-122 Active Ingredient(s): Esfenvalerate: (S) -cyano (3-phenoxyphenyl) methyl-(S)-4 chloro-alpha- (1-methylethyl) benzeneacetate 0.44% Inert Ingredients 99.56% 100.00% Indications: Residual action insecticide concentrate for use outdoors on residential lawns and around residential premises only to kill fleas and ticks. Kills deer ticks and other Ixodid species that carry and transmit Lyme disease. Directions for Use: It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. To kill fleas and ticks harboring in lawns, backyards, dog kennels and runs, apply Yard Spray Concentrate through the hose end sprayer provided with this product or by compressed air sprayer or watering can. For best results, lawn should be mowed a day or two before spraying. For use with Hose End Spray Applicator: The hose end applicator cap is calibrated to deliver the correct dilution rate, and when attached to this bottle will treat 6000 square feet. To treat smaller areas, stop spraying when the appropriate amount of concentrate has been used (e.g., half the concentrate should be used for a 3000 square foot yard), reclose bottle with original cap and store bottle for next application. Separate mixing of the concentrate or other application equipment is not required. First ensure the hose faucet is turned off. Then screw end of hose into the black end of the sprayer cap. Remove bottle cap (save for closing after use). Secure sprayer cap to bottle by turning bottle counter-clockwise. Turn on faucet. Spray using a slow, even sweeping motion, being sure to cover the entire lawn surface where pets frequent. Spray under ornamentals and trees but avoid soaking young or flowering plants. Flea populations are greatest where the pet spends the most time. Therefore be sure to thoroughly soak these areas (e.g., shaded areas such as underbrushes, trees, porches, inside pet kennel and wherever your pet frequents). Repeat treatment may be necessary at 7 to 14 day intervals. For Compressed Air Sprayer or Watering Can Application: Mix two (2) fluid ounces of the concentrate per one (1) gallon of water and apply at the rate of one (1) gallon of diluted spray per 1000 square feet to surfaces of kennels, exercise runs, patios, on and under porches, crawl spaces and other outdoor areas pets frequent. Precautionary Statements: Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals: Caution: Harmful if swallowed, absorbed through skin or inhaled, causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist and contact with skin, eyes or clothing. In case of contact, flush with plenty of water. Avoid contamination of food or foodstuffs. Do not spray plants used for food or feed. Keep pets and children out of treated area until after spray has dried. Do not spray on animals. Statement of Practical Treatment: If Swallowed: Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately. Do not induce vomiting because of aspiration pneumonia hazard. If in Eyes: Flush with plenty of water. Get immediate medical attention. If Inhaled: Remove victim to fresh air or, if not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. Get medical attention. If on Skin: Wash skin with soap and warm water after use. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If on Clothing: Remove contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. Environmental Hazards: This pesticide is highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water. Drift from treated areas may be hazardous to organisms in adjacent aquatic sites. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwaters. Storage and Disposal: Storage: Store in closed container in a cool, dry place. Disp

Proanthozone 50 For Large Dogs Proanthozone is a potent, bi
... Read more
Proanthozone 50 For Large Dogs Proanthozone is a potent, bioflavanol-based antioxidant formula for adult dogs and cats and is indicated for the nutritional management of conditions linked to oxidative stress, such as liver/kidney disease, skin disease, pancreatic and G.I. disorders, cardiovascular disorders and degenerative joint disease (DJD). Also useful as a nutritional support for compromised immune function. Effects of Oxidative Stress on Pets: Free radicals are unstable molecules produced during normal biological processes such as breathing and the digestion of food. Free radicals are also the result of environmental factors including injury or infection. Once active, the free radical strips electrons from the molecules in many body tissues and cells causing oxidative stress. Free radical or oxidative damage has been linked to age related diseases including arthritis, cancer, kidney/liver disorders, immune system dysfunction and heart disease. In fact, aging itself is thought to be due in large part to oxidative disease and its influence over cellular health. Antioxidants grab the highly reactive free radical and either remove it, neutralize it or pass the radical on to another antioxidant. Often, through a cascade of different enzymes, a free radical will pass through the body until it emerges as a harmless substance. Certain nutrients, such as bioflavanol, have the ability to neutralize or quench free radicals. When to give Proanthozone: Bioflavanol is useful as a nutritional support for a variety of conditions. Because oxidative stress affects so many of the body's systems, Proanthozone can be applied in a number of ways. Proanthozone is best used in the form of immune system support. By optimizing immune responses, Proanthozone may protect against many diseases and degenerative conditions, such as skin problems, cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, dental disease, and cataracts. A strong immune system is especially important for older pets. Bioflavanol helps control allergies. Bioflavanol inhibits enzymes that promote histamine release, inflammation, and allergic reactions. This action makes Proanthozone useful for managing allergies and asthma. Bioflavanol helps protect the kidneys & liver from free radical damage. The kidneys and liver are very susceptible to oxidative damage and Proanthozone's powerful antioxidants help protect these vital organs. Bioflavanol is a chondroprotective agent. Bioflavanol protects joint tissues from destructive enzymes released during oxidative stress, such as at the site of an injury. Joint cartilage is mainly composed of collagen, and bioflavanol also helps strengthen these collagen fibers when they are damaged. Veterinarians can use Proanthozone as nutritional support for animals with: Cataracts Skin problems - Anti-histamine effect Cardiovascular disease Surgical incisions or wounds Immune-mediated disease Diabetes/Diabetic retinopathy Kidney disease Pancreatitis Liver disease Dental disease Cancer Vascular problems There are many disorders that can benefit from antioxidants. Studies have shown that oxidative damage to nerves can result in mental deterioration, oxidative damage to joint tissue can result in gait disturbances, and oxidative damage to cardiac tissues can result in cardiac arrhythmia or heart attack. Research has also shown that renal, hepatic, pulmonary, cardiovascular, neurological and ocular diseases can be slowed or prevented with adequate antioxidant therapy. For example, in rabbits, isolated heart muscle has been protected from ischemia/reperfusion injury in the presence of the potent antioxidant bioflavanol, which is the main component in Proanthozone. Research has shown that bioflavanol from grape seed extract inhibits elastase and collagenase enzymes that continually work to break down connective tissue throughout an animal's body. At the same time,

ProtectaCell Cancer Support Formula Nutrient & Antioxidant Supplement For Cats & Dogs You probably know that many breeds are predisposed to certain diseases, such as arthritis in German Shepherds, skin disease in Laboradors, cancer in Golden Retrievers or heart disease in Boxers. Studies suggest that key supplemental nutrients may support the body's ability to maintain good health. ProtectaCell combines a high level of omega-3 fatty acids with antioxidants and amino acids for nutritional support in pets predisposed to, diagnosed with, or recovering from cancer or heart disease. You probably know that many breeds are predisposed to certain diseases, such as arthritis in German Shepherds, skin disease in Laboradors, cancer in Golden Retrievers or heart disease in Boxers. Illness-induced loss of appetite is common in pets. Decreased food intake contributes to impaired immune response, so nutritional therapy is important. Because cancer changes the way the body utilizes food, even if a pet is eating normally, they can still lose weight and muscle mass. Animal studies suggest that omega-3 fatty acids may prevent or reduce cancer-related weight loss, appetite loss, and muscle wasting, collectively known as cachexia. Talk to your veterinarian about how you might improve your pet's appetite without causing them additional stress. Studies in humans and animals suggest a relationship between aging and cancer. If you feel that your older pet may be at risk of developing cancer or heart disease, ProtectaCell can be used as a daily supplement in healthy older pets. While there is no guarantee of prevention, the increased concentrations of fatty acids, amino acids and antioxidants and potential strengthening of the immune defenses may provide a less favorable environment for cancer cells to thrive. ProtectaCell is a combination of the following compounds. Research suggests that the simultaneous activities of such compounds are more beneficial than that of each on its own. Nourish the Cells to Protect the Body With ProtectaCell Recommended Usage: 1-20 lbs 1 tablet per day 21-40 lbs 2 tablets per day 41-90 lbs 3 tablets per day 90+ lbs 4 tablets per day Tablets may be crumbled and sprinkled on food, or mixed with a small amount of wet food to help with administration. The tablets can be divided and given in the morning and evening. It is recommended that use is discontinued at least one day before, during and one day after chemotherapy or radiation therapy. ProtectaCell - Supportive Supplement For Cancer and Heart Patients Inflammation and excessive oxidative damage can lead to genetic mutations in susceptible cells. Micronutrients found in ProtectaCell have been shown to reduce inflammation and oxidative damage, and are intended to preserve the genetic integrity of cells, provide nourishment, and improve the immune system's response to conventional cancer therapy. Nutritional therapy is most effective when started early, before carbohydrate and protein stores are depleted, and may support healthy metabolism even once the animal is in remission. Research has shown that alterations in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fat do not normalize after surgical elimination of the disease. Supplemental omega-3 fatty acids are important for several reasons. High amounts of hormones and enzymes are produced during the transformation of normal cells into cancer cells. As a result, fatty acids in the cell membranes are replaced with cholesterol, which is resistant to attack by the immune system. Omega-3 fatty acids can prevent and help resolve inflammation,

In addition to fipronil, which kills adult fleas, Frontline Plus contains an important addition: (S)-methoprene. Methoprene is an ingredient that kills flea eggs and larvae, which keeps ALL stages of fleas from developing and bothering your pets and your family, not just adult fleas. Methoprene mimics the juvenile growth hormone of fleas, keeping the larvae from molting and developing into more mature forms. Frontline Plus is long-lasting, fast acting flea and tick control you apply on the skin once monthly. The fipronil in Frontline Plus spreads over the pet's body with the body oils killing 98-100% of the fleas or ticks within 24-48 hours, and controlling transmission of tick-borne disease, such as Lyme disease. It works by affecting the flea's or tick's nervous system, causing paralysis and death. Fipronil collects in the oils of the skin and hair follicles and then is released over time (up to 1 month) from the hair follicles onto the skin and hair. Frontline Plus delivers total, effective flea prevention to your pet. Guaranteed USA Supplier. Frontline Plus stays on even with bathing, swimming, or exposure to sunlight. Approved for use on puppies 8 weeks of age and older. Looking for Frontline for Dogs? Frontline is also available in cat formula !
