Over the last eleven years, Monsen and Baer publications have given collectors dozens of valuable research articles on the history of perfume companies and glass makers, in addition to photos and descriptions of thousands of perfume bottles. The Magic of Perfume offers collectors an astonishing array of perfume bottles and atomizers by the American companies DeVilbiss, Pyramid, and Volupte. There is definitely a magic quality to the elegant bottles made by DeVilbisstheir esthetics are quite different than most other perfume bottles. They are tall and sleek, and preciously fragile because of this. The collectors of DeVilbiss perfume bottles are passionate enough in their collecting that this quantity and quality of them is seldom seen for sale all at one time. Most of these are from a single owner, and they represent some of the rarest types of bottles that DeVilbiss made.
