These mallets were designed to provide an indoor sound in an outdoor environment. Each mallet has its own unique personality and maintains the intended timbre regardless of volume. The marimba mallets are crafted with birch shafts; the vibe mallets feature rattan shafts. Wrapped in a gray wool/acrylic blended yarn or a nylon cord for warm sounds and durability, this series was also designed to look flattering against any uniform. This medium hard mallet will be the primary vibe mallet you'll use outside. While similar in sound quality to a medium hard indoor mallet, its round head allows for more contact and more projection than an indoor mallet. The cord is extremely durable and continues to sound great after hours and hours of practice and performance.

Respected internationally as a soloist, teacher and masterclass instructor, Robert van Sice designed this series of yarn wound marimba mallets with an exclusive hand-wrapping technique that virtually eliminates the sound of bar contact. A special interlocking stitch pattern maintains the integrity of the head.Rubber core models are mono-tonal, while the synthetic core models are multi-tonal -- allowing the sound to brighten and darken as the dynamics increase and decrease. 17" maple handles provide excellent feel and control at extended intervals.Medium hard. This is the most expressive mallet of the series and is an ideal choice for the modern marimba repertoire.Length: 17"
