This guitar is all about versatility. Replacing the traditional hum-single-hum configuration with three Narrowfield pickups paired with a 5-way blade switch, the Swamp Ash Special offers a multitude of switching possibilities. The Narrowfield pickups focus the string attack much like a single-coil but are hum canceling. The result is a new sounding pickup system, which blends features of single-coil, soap bar, and humbucking pickups. The Swamp Ash Special has also been updated with a Pattern Regular neck shape and V12 finish.V12 FinishFinish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood's inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. And PRS Guitars' new "V12" finish does just that. Introduced at Experience PRS 2010, "V12" is a very thin, hard, and clear finish that will not crack or react with thinners. After roughly 12 years in development, it is halfway between acrylic and nitro but with a classic feel all its own. "PRS models with this new finish feel like old instruments," said Paul Reed Smith.Pattern Regular ShapeNeck shapes have always been a high priority for PRS and a hallmark of PRS quality. A guitar should feel comfortable, like "home," as soon as you pick it up, and the neck is paramount to that connection. The new "Pattern Regular" neck shape is similar to the traditional PRS regular neck found on guitars made in the late 80's at PRS's former Virginia Avenue location. This new neck shape reflects modern tooling and programming that allows PRS to even more preciously shape and consistently reproduce their necks.Carved swamp ash bodyV12 finishBolt-on rock maple neckMaple fretboardPattern regular neck shape22 frets25" scaleIvory/brown bird inlays57/08 Narrowfield neck pickup57/08 Narrowfield middle pickup57/08 Narrowfield bridge pickupVolume and Tone controls with 5-way blade pickup switchNickel hardwarePRS tremoloPRS Low-Mass locking tuners

PRS's new 22 fret, 25" scale length Studio model electric guitar is a fresh, modern rendition of a traditional single-single-hum guitar set up with the beauty and brightness of a maple top. The possibilities are vast with PRS's proprietary 57/08 Narrowfield pickups in the middle and bass positions in conjunction with a 57/08 humbucking bridge pickup. The Narrowfield pickups focus the string attack much like a single-coil but are hum canceling. The result is a new sounding pickup system, which blends features of single-coil, soap bar, and humbucking pickups. Screaming lead tones, crisp rhythm tones and 5-way blade switch also enhance the flexibility of this guitar in the studio or on stage.Other features include mahogany neck, V12 finish, rosewood fretboard, "pattern neck" with "pattern thin option," 2011 birds, PRS tremolo bridge, PRS locking tuners, nickel or gold hardware, and redesigned lampshade knobs volume and push/pull tone controls.V12 FinishFinish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood's inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. The Signature Limited is a 400-piece run of guitars built by PRS Guitars core production line. Most notably, the Signature Limited boasts an innovative, proprietary Signature/408 pickup system designed to extend the guitars tonal spectrum and musicality. The proprietary Signature/408 treble and bass pickups are designed to narrow the field of the bass pickup to increase its focus, and to expand the field of the treble pickup to increase its tonal range (hence their asymmetric appearance). This pickup configuration stems back to Pauls early pickup experimentation in the early 1980s and provides stunning articulation and musical clarity. The Signature/408 electronics offer eight sounds via four pickup coils thanks to a simple but versatile switching system featuring mini toggle switches that provide numerous combinations of humbucking and (no volume loss!) singlecoil tones. This versatility and distinctiveness has garnered the Signature model PRSs first official multi-artist endorsement from Howard Leese, Davy Knowles, Michael Ault, Tom Wheeler, and, of course, Paul Reed Smith. In many ways, the Signature model is the culmination of decades of experimentation, says Paul Reed Smith. This pickup system, and the very positive reception it has garnered, shows me that we have hit on something new and special.V12 FinishFinish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the woods inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. The PRS P22 Pattern Regular Neck Quilt 10-Top Electric Guitar is the company's first piezo-equipped solidbody guitar. The P22 comes standard with a figured maple top, mahogany back, mahogany neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, and a redesigned PRS/LR Baggs piezo system. PRS and LR Baggs partnered more than a decade ago to design the piezo system found in PRSs popular hollowbody models. This new system retains the same circuit design as the existing system, giving the P22 the same tonal authenticity and real world practicality as PRS hollowbody guitars. The redesign of the board itself yielded a version that is more than 60% smaller than the original PRS/LR Baggs system, allowing it to comfortably inhabit a solidbody guitar. Uncovered 53/10 pickups round out this guitars specifications and help define the P22s voice. Seperate acoustic and electric outputs are available with the option to combine both pickup systems through a single output using use onboard controls to adjust the balance.Piezo systems have long allowed guitarists the versatility of wielding both acoustic and electric guitar tones in one instrument. The PRS Hollowbody II and Singlecut Hollowbody II both come standard with the original PRS/LR Baggs piezo and have achieved a great level of popularity in PRS Guitars product line. The addition of a solidbody model will give musicians a new and unique tool to add to their own lineup.BodyTop Wood: Carved Figured MapleTop: 10-Top QuiltBack Wood: MahoganyFinish: V12NeckNumber of Frets: 22Scale Length: 25"Neck Wood: MahoganyFretboard Wood: RosewoodNeck Shape Pattern: RegularFretboard Inlays: BirdsHardware/ElectronicsBridge: PRS Piezo Adjustable StoptailTuners: PRS Phase III Locking TunersTruss Rod Cover: "P22"Hardware Type: NickelTreble Pickup: Uncovered 53/10 TrebleBass Pickup: Uncovered 53/10 BassPickup Switching: 5-Way Blade, LR Baggs/PRS Piezo SystemHardware: GoldIncludes case
