With the compact Headway EDB-1 (Sheer Acoustic Equaliser Direct Blend) mega multi-purpose external pre-amplifier box you can completely shape your sound with a 5-band interactive EQ, switchable input impedance, and 3-way range switch. The preamp's controls offer acoustic guitar, bass, or violin settings—which cut unwanted low end tones below the useable frequency range of the instrument. This cuts body-handling noise, unwanted resonances, feedback, and violin bowing noise. Feedback and other resonance problems may be further tackled by a very effective, broad-ranging tunable notch filter and a phase reverse control. The Headway EDB-1 preamp's inputs provide plenty of options for any amplification you use. Whether using a 1/4" jack, balanced stereo 1/4" jack, or XLR jack for a microphone, the EDB-1 has got you covered. Headway EDB-1 inputs include mono jack, stereo jack and XLR, through 2 channels. The inputs enable you to blend in an extra pickup, or microphone. You can plug into them with 1 or 2 standard mono jack leads, a jack lead plus an XLR, or a stereo jack lead. An unbalanced 1/4" jack would be related to the Channel 1 input. A balanced 1/4" jack relates to the stereo input (using channels 1 and 2), for an instrument using an internal mic and pickup, being blended internally. Channel 2 mic is an XLR input allowing you to use a microphone onstage, if your instrument does not have a pickup. Each channel's input impedance switches allow you to optimize the voicing for any of the major pickup types, while a huge amount of extra levels can be applied via the gain controls and master volume. Phantom power is also available to jack in and XLR inputs, making the unit friendly for use with quality condenser mics and Instruments wired with no battery inside instrument, but with active pickups needing powering. The outputs use a balanced XLR out and a line out jack. If an earth loop is heard causing hum, you may kill it by pressing the earth lift switch. The two o

In the simplest terms, the SansAmp RPM is Tech 21's SansAmp Acoustic DI pedal in a rackmount format adapted into an expanded multi-instrument tool. This instrument pre-amp features the same parametric equalization and SansAmp processing with the addition of a Drive control. It makes an excellent partner for Tech 21's SansAmp RBI pre-amp for bass or SansAmp PSA-1 programmable pre-amp for guitar. Active Bass and Treble tone controls cut or boost 12dB. Sweepable semi-parametric EQ controls, Mid Shift & Mid, range from 170Hz to 3.0 kHz, 16dB, respectively. Blend mixes the amount of SansAmp circuitry with the direct instrument signal. There's an individual level control for the XLR output to optimize an amp's output relative to the PA system. Engineered for both studio and live applications, SansAmp RPM is designed to go direct into the mixing console of a recorder or P.A. system. It can also be used with conventional acoustic or electric guitar amps to enhance and expand their capabilities.

The A400 from Traps Drums is a portable drum kit that feels and sounds like a regular drum kit. The drums are constructed from high-quality, durable A.B.S. and are fitted with Remo heads, steel counter hoops, and are tuned with the traditional multi-screw tuning system. This also allows the use of pads for silent practicing. The rack system that the drums and hardware fit to is made from substantial steel tubing which means that everything stays exactly where it's put when the kit is set up and doesn't move.Geoff Nicholls of Rhythm Magazine asked in 2005: "Can a shell-less kit ever stand in for the real thing?" He concluded: "Shell-less kits are a viable alternative and Traps A400 is easily the best so far."Rack systemThe A400 rack-mounting system is made from sturdy large-diameter chromed steel tubing. The kit can easily be set up for either left- or right-handed players using the supplied tough ABS multifunctional joints. When set up, the rack is very strong and, once fitted with the supplied four large rubber feet, stays where it's placed and doesn't move. This provides a noticeable improvement in playability compared to other portable drum sets in this price bracket.Top Quality HardwareThe A400 comes fitted with quality hardware as standard. This includes hi-hat and kick drum pedals that are both rugged and free moving. Also included is a snare basket, boom cymbal arms (which can be slid into the frame for easy storage). The hardware is both reliable and distinctive with black-painted footplates and a "Traps" embossed seat squab. They also feature quality chain drives, memory locks, expansion springs and clutches.12" snare drumThe A400 12" snare drum has a very crisp sound as a result of the high-quality ABS molding combined with the chrome-plated steel counter hoops, Remo Ambassador heads, and 8 square-headed tension screws. This all results in a snare that's easy to tune and capable of cutting rim shots and thick X-stick sounds. The drum also features a sturdy t

Building or architectural acoustics is taken in this book to cover all aspects of sound and vibration in buildings. The book covers room acoustics but the main emphasis is on sound insulation and sound absorption and the basic aspects of noise and vibration problems connected to service equipment and external sources. Measuring techniques connected to these fields are also brought in. It is designed for advanced level engineering studies and is also valuable as a guide for practitioners and acoustic consultants who need to fulfil the demands of building regulations. It gives emphasis to the acoustical performance of buildings as derived from the performance of the elements comprising various structures. Consequently, the physical aspects of sound transmission and absorption need to be understood, and the main focus is on the design of elements and structures to provide high sound insulation and high absorbing power. Examples are taken from all types of buildings. The book aims at giving an understanding of the physical principles involved and three chapters are therefore devoted to vibration phenomena and sound waves in fluids and solid media. Subjective aspects connected to sound and sound perception is sufficiently covered by other books; however, the chapter on room acoustics includes descriptions of measures that quantify the "acoustic quality" of rooms for speech and music.

Portable power The POWER-TINY completes the range of the off-mains operated machines perfectly and fills the gap between high flexibility and powerful fog output. In the world of theatre, film, TV- and photographers, musicals and special effects, air flow and air tightness testing - everywhere where fog is needed quickly and efficiently, the Power-Tiny is the perfect alternative to normal fog generators. Features Minimal heat-up time Due to the heat-up time of only one second the POWER-TINY is ready-to-use on site. Light weight and small dimensions The light weight (5.6 kg) and the small dimensions (L=22.3; W=10; H=21 cm) makes the machine useable for mobile uses. Adjustable output The output of the POWER-TINY can be adjusted with an adjusting knob. The release button is built into the grip. Thus, a comfortable one-hand operation is possible. Microprocessor controlled The heart of this machine is a microprocessor which controls and supervises all important functions. This guarantees a continuous and safe running of the generator. 250 hours stand-by time Because of an intelligent control mechanism the battery supplies energy only when necessary. Thus the operation time is considerably increased - the stand-by time is 250 hours. With one battery 10 minutes of continuous output or up to 150 x 5 seconds bursts can be produced. When the battery is flat it has to be recharged with the supplied charger. As an option a batterypack is available (battery complete with housing, PCB, fuses and plug). The fog generator can easily be disconnected from the battery and can be connected to the new battery quickly. Minimal fluid consumption A special fluid ensures that dense fog is produced with the lowest of fluid consumption. Control The POWER-TINY is equipped with a 3pin-XLR-socket for analog (0 - 10V) control. An XLR-remote as well as a wireless radio remote can be connected (both as an option). With a DMX-converter (DMXit) the machine can be contr

Guild's orchestra-body F30 Aragon Acoustic-Electric with D-TAR Pickup System is based on the 1956 F-30 Aragon guitar, with all solid woods, a red spruce top and bracing, mahogany back and sides, Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, bone bridge pins, tortoise binding, 1-11/16" nut and lacquer finish. The D-TAR Wave-Length Pickup and Preamp System combines a thin, piezo under-saddle transducer with an 18v, low-noise, high input impedance preamp, to create a system with twice the dynamic range of typical 9v systems. The 18v preamp is powered by two "AA" batteries and a voltage converter. With 18 volts, the signal has more headroom, so hard strumming won't distort as easily. The preamp also has an input for a second source, like a magnetic pickup or a soundboard transducer. Two adjustable trim pots, one for low frequency shelving and one for high frequency shelving, allow you to fine tune and "set and forget" the bass and treble frequencies to optimize the Wave-Length for your instrument's size and shape; enabling you to transparently amplify the natural timbre of your acoustic guitar with minimal coloration. The soundhole mounted Volume and Tone controls give the ultimate in final control your tonal palette. But perhaps the coolest part of the guitar system is D-TAR's new Load 'N Lock system, which allows quick and easy "AA" battery changes. Just unscrew the end pin "collar," remove the old batteries, and pop in the new ones. A quarter turn of the collar is all you need to lock them in place.

Acoustics as a branch of physics involves heavy mathematics, and the practice of architectural acoustics involves knowledge of a broad range of subjects. For these reasons, many people believe that good acoustics are almost impossible to obtain and exist only in concert halls. With a solid understanding of the basics, however, rooms with good acoustics are not as hard to design and build as people might think. This work describes acoustics and the factors to be considered in constructing a room or building with good sound quality. Among the topics covered are intonation, tuning and temperaments of classical music, environmental noise, noise and vibration control, sound measurement, sound systems, acoustic models, and acoustical design for various settings and purposes, including acoustics for chamber music, synagogues, churches, and classrooms. The work looks at places like Clemens Theatre, Congress Hall, Binns Rehearsal Room, and Philharmonic Hall, to name just a few, as models of small and large buildings with excellent acoustics. Many diagrams and other illustrations enhance the text.

While the history of musical instruments is nearly as old as civilisation itself, the science of acoustics is quite recent. By understanding the physical basis of how instruments are used to make music, one hopes ultimately to be able to give physical criteria to distinguish a fine instrument from a mediocre one. At that point science may be able to come to the aid of art in improving the design and performance of musical instruments. As yet, many of the subtleties in musical sounds of which instrument makers and musicians are aware remain beyond the reach of modern acoustic measurements. This book describes the results of such acoustical investigations - fascinating intellectual and practical exercises. Addressed to readers with a reasonable grasp of physics who are not put off by a little mathematics, this book discusses most of the traditional instruments currently in use in Western music. A guide for all who have an interest in music and how it is produced, as well as serving as a comprehensive reference for those undertaking research in the field.

GearWedge is a great choice for absorbing mid and high frequencies, and greatly minimizing slap and flutter echo. GearWedge was designed to meet and exceed the performance of traditional 2" wedge products, while providing you greater decorative options. GearWedge also offers some real practical advantages to you regarding installation. The panels are 16" x 24," which helps for quick and easy installation. You don't have to worry about cutting larger 24" x 48" panels to smaller sizes for greater dispersion around the room, or to fit in tighter areas. And the GearWedge panels do match up very well when installed side by side, allowing a larger treatment area (like behind the control desk) to appear "seamless." Thus, GearWedge can provide you a much more professional finished look. Beyond the look, the varying size of the individual wedges (vs. the traditional symmetrical wedge) results in the sound waves encountering a varied absorptive surface, which causes more "wave confusion," thus aiding in breaking up any slap-echo and (to a slight extent), creating a small amount of varied refraction of the higher frequencies, leaving a little liveliness in the room. Plus, the cut of the GearWedge allows for the installation of smaller, hardened surfaces over parts of the panel for sound refraction/diffusion, ultimately giving you great flexibility in tuning your room to the exact sound you absolutely love. Applications: ? Effective mid/mid-high absorption in your studio. ? Cost effective coverage of larger areas in you studio or vocal booth. ? Can be installed over large areas with solid coverage, or used in smaller pieces with disbursed coverage to minimize flutter echo.

Color: Charcoal Qty: 12 panels (6-nested pair) Size: 2" peak x 24" x 12" (1/2" base)NRC: 0.85 Gain an edge in your room with our all new V-TraxTM Wedge panels. You've probably been in many rooms that boast acoustical wedge treatment. Looks great, performs great, been there, done that. But our V-Trax acoustical foam panels are cut with the very top of each wedge squared off for better performance and - definitely - better looks. Traditional wedge-cut panels (like Auralex Studiofoam Wedge) have a tip on each wedge peak that offers little in absorption and tends to get "picked at" over time, making for a bad look in your studio. The flattened tips on our V-Trax guards against this type of damage for greater longevity and great looks with a corresponding flattened bottom of each valley...Face it, it just looks better...and will make your room sound great! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Applications: ? Great performance...low price. ? Unique (ok...it's awesome) look. ? Perfect for any room. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You'll enjoy a great performing product, but you won't bust your budget to get it! One box of our V-Trax Wedge panels normally sell for $99. But right now, as an introductory offer, you can get a box for just $79 and don't forget to search for and get a PACK OF OUR APETAPE. Makes for quick and easy installation. Proper placement on your walls and/or ceiling will go a long way to negating bothersome echoes and reverb in your room. And V-Trax will give you that edge...with Wedge.
