The Brits and the Yanks join forces in this romantic Christmas comedy set in England and L.A. Kate Winslet is a British journalist caught in a cycle of unrequited love with her coworker Jasper Rufus Sewell. Jasper does his best to lead her on and when he announces his engagement to another woman in the office Winslet is crushed. Meanwhile across the pond Cameron Diaz is a high-strung movie-trailer editor who has just ended her relationship with Ethan Edward Burns after he accuses her of being emotionally unavailable. And oh yes he has sort of been sleeping with his receptionist. Brokenhearted Diaz and Winslet make contact through a vacation website and agree to swap homes for two weeks to escape their disastrous personal lives. Winslet takes off for Diaz's lavish L.A. pad while Diaz arrives at Winslet's picturesque cottage right outside London. When Winslet's brother Graham Jude Law knocks at the door one night looking for his sister he instead encounters Diaz and sparks soon fly--despite the fact that they both know she won't be in town for long. Winslet for her part is busy mending her heart in sunny California befriending Diaz's elderly neighbor and making the acquaintance of film composer Miles Jack Black. But her healing is abruptly interrupted when Jasper suddenly appears on her doorstep having flown halfway round the world to make sure he still has her under his spell. Miles apart Winslet and Diaz find themselves at the crux of all rom-com crises: how to follow your heart while still being true to yourself. While THE HOLIDAY's whimsical plot can at times feels stretched thinner than Diaz's legs fans of the genre will no doubt find Winslet's thespian charms Law's dimples and the high-fashion wardrobes quite enough to give them their chick-flick fix.

Three talented young women work for the mysterious Charles Townsend: Natalie (Cameron Diaz), the bubbly blond science expert; Dylan (Drew Barrymore), the rebellious tomboy; and Alex (Lucy Liu), the tough Angel who has trouble telling her boyfriend that she's a highly skilled secret agent. The Angels are assigned to locate Eric Knox (Sam Rockwell), a kidnapped computer expert whose new software could threaten global security if it were to fall into the wrong hands. The women go undercover to investigate this devious tycoon and are faced with double crosses, explosions, and the mysterious Thin Man. From the acclaimed music-video director McG (Joseph McGinty), CHARLIE'S ANGELS wastes little time on plot, instead presenting audiences with a series of spectacular MATRIX-style fight sequences, car chases, and stunts. Diaz, Barrymore, and Liu as the three Angels give terrific performances worthy of a new breed of female action hero, kicking major butt while remaining lovable and sexy. The movie also stars Bill Murray as the Angels' mentor, Bosley, and John Forsythe as the voice of Charlie.

Joy Diaz is the type of woman who makes plans to make plans. She's expecting a marriage proposal but her live-in boyfriend Mason Jason Sudeikis has other ideas. When he dumps her Joy heads to Vegas to forget her troubles with her friend Tipper Lake Bell and discovers her fun spontaneous side. Unfortunately she also wakes up with recently unemployed Jack Kutcher as her husband. The two quickly decide to divorce but the plot thickens when Jack wins a 3 million slot jackpot using Joy's quarter. Since neither one of them wants to give up the cash they each try to drive the other to file for divorce and give up the bounty. But love has a funny way of appearing when you least expect it and in acting their worst Joy and Jack actually bring out the best in each other. Diaz and Kutcher have nice onscreen chemistry and make a very photogenic couple. Treat Williams stars as Jack's difficult-to-please father while Rob Corddry is Jack's best friend Hater. Queen Latifah and Dennis Miller appear briefly as a marriage counselor and divorce court judge respectively. The Vegas scenes are flashy and fun--just like Sin City--and the settings for the New York City scenes differentiate nicely between Joy's organized structured life and Jack's less serious happy-go-lucky attitude.

THE NOTEBOOK's Nick Cassavetes directs another tearjerking literary adaptation with this drama based on Jodi Picoult's novel. Cameron Diaz takes a detour from comedy to play Sara the domineering mother of Kate Sofia Vassilieva MEDIUM a young girl with cancer. Sara's other daughter 11-year-old Anna Abigail Breslin was conceived just to serve as a donor for her sick sister. On the outskirts of the family are father Brian Jason Patric who feels unable to stand up to his wife's strength and son Jesse Evan Ellingson who craves attention in the face of Kate's illness. But the complicated situation gets more difficult when Anna hires a lawyer played by the always excellent Alec Baldwin so that she can control her own body and say "no" to giving a kidney to her sister. Cassavetes and Picoult both traffic in tears so MY SISTER'S KEEPER is a perfect match between director and source writer. Even the most jaded viewers will find it hard to keep their eyes dry in the face of this emotional family tragedy so audiences are warned to have tissues parked next to their popcorn. This drama's stellar cast also includes Thomas Dekker as Kate's cancer-stricken love and Joan Cusack as the judge who presides over Anna's case.

In this meet-the-parents sequel to the romantic fairy tale in which two ogres fall in love SHREK 2 brings the loveable green menace voiced by Mike Meyers back to the big screen for a second round of mischief. This time around in addition to the voices of Cameron Diaz as Shrek's sweetheart Fiona and Eddie Murphy as their companion Donkey Julie Andrews and John Cleese chime in as Fiona's parents Queen Lillian and King Harold. Surprising newcomer Puss in Boots Antonio Banderas--a slyly funny tabby honed for swashbuckling adventure--joins the crew. Last but certainly not least the conniving duo of vain Prince Charming Rupert Everett and his power-hungry mom the Fairy Godmother Jennifer Saunders spice up the action. When Fiona insists that her new husband Shrek visit her parents they travel to Far Far Away a Disneyfied medieval version of Hollywood where everything goes wrong. The King and Queen are outraged to see their daughter married to an ogre and while Fiona tries to calm them Shrek sets out to find a solution. He finds it in the form of a Happily Ever After potion which only complicates matters drawing all parties into a confused exchange of magic and spells all for the sake of true love. With shimmering animation giving SHREK 2 near-3-D visuals the witty scripting and eclectic pop music soundtrack keep the film hopping along with an upbeat pace. "Holding Out for a Hero" by Frou Frou and "Livin' la Vida Loca" by Eddie Murphy are the most raucous of the film's many great songs though more subtle numbers such as "Accidentally in Love" by Counting Crows and "Little Drop of Poison" by Tom Waits certainly enrich some key scenes of this enjoyable family film.

On the outskirts of the family are father Brian Jason Patric who feels unable to stand up to his wife's strength and son Jesse Evan Ellingson who craves attention in the face of Kate's illness. But the complicated situation gets more difficult when Anna hires a lawyer played by the always excellent Alec Baldwin so that she can control her own body and say "no" to giving a kidney to her sister. Cassavetes and Picoult both traffic in tears so MY SISTER'S KEEPER is a perfect match between director and source writer. Even the most jaded viewers will find it hard to keep their eyes dry in the face of this emotional family tragedy so audiences are warned to have tissues parked next to their popcorn. This drama's stellar cast also includes Thomas Dekker as Kate's cancer-stricken love and Joan Cusack as the judge who presides over Anna's case.
