We were looking for a beautiful pourover stand to add to our brewing equipment offerings, but the options left us wanting. We set out to design an iconic, beautiful stand made by a local craftsman that would stand the test of time. We are proud to introduce the Clive Stand, a culmination of several months of design and prototyping with Delaney Kelly of Carthagh Craft & Design . The stand is made of salvaged Oregon Walnut that was too small for other purposes and headed for the burn pile. We strived for a design aesthetic that is clean and functional with a focus on composition. We hope it evokes fine furniture from the masters such as Eames and George Nakashima. Each Stand is carefully made by hand, a highly detailed process which takes several hours to complete. This meticulous attention to detail and expert craftsmanship is evident in the strong joinery and beautiful lines. The stand works beautifully with the Hario V60 dripper and decanter . The Clive team worked together to bring our own vision for a tamper to market. We found a Portland craftsman to lathe turn planks of Oregon black walnut, bubinga, and zebrawood into custom tamper handles. We brainstormed, prototyped, tested, reworked, and eventually formed an ergonomic and attractive design. The Clive Tamper can part of your permanent collection of barista tools. The high quality bases are CNC lathe turned out of stainless steel. We guarantee size accuracy to within a 10th of a millimeter. (A note for the coffee geek: the 58mm tamper bases is sized at 58.3mm to fit snugly with the VST baskets, typically used by our clients in the La Marzocco GS/3).
