Unplug the dryer before starting to install this replacement electronic control interface. Then pull the control knob off its posts and remove the screws from the rear of the control panel that secure the panel to the dryerÆs cabinet. Lift the control panel and take out the three mounting screws that attach the old interface to the wall of the control panel. Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pop up the locking tabs around the interface and take the device out of the control panel. Mark the location of where the interface cable from the main control board connects to the old interface on the replacement part, then detach the cable. Remove the cycle selector switch by lifting the locking tab on the switch and turning the switch in a counterclockwise direction. Last, take out the insert panel by using a flat-head screwdriver to depress the locking tabs along its bottom edge. When making the repair, be sure to keep yourself grounded at all times. Electronic control boards are sensitive to static electricity. Also, when reassembling the control panel, make sure that the shaft of the selector switch passes directly through the center of the shaft seal located between the decorative overlay and the control panel's insert panel.
