The Velvicut line of products represents Council Tool's finest accomplishment in the axe making craft. This 4 lbs heriloom American felling axe was produced by their most experienced artisans. The Dayton pattern is a timeless shape and much preferred by skilled woodsmen for a full-sized felling axe. The grade "A" hickory handle is selected for grain orientation and density. After the head is forged, much care is taken in the finishing process of Council Tool's premium axe. The axe head is rough ground in a robotic work cell and then sharpened by an experienced craftsman using increasingly fine abrasives and then finished with leather stropping. A sharp axe is a safe axe as it is less likely to glance out of the cut. Be assured that this axe has been hand-honed razor sharp by our skilled craftsmen. Use caution when handling this axe, it is sharp! All components are MADE IN THE USA. Forged from 5160 grade alloy steel for strength, toughness, durability and the ability to hold an edge. The Council name is proudly displayed on one side of the head and the other is marked "USA". The head will last for a lifetime. Council Tools guarantees it! Heat treated and quenched to produce a hardened edge extending 1-1/2 inches up the bit for maximum edge holding. The edge is tempered to Rc 50-54 to hold an edge without becoming brittle. Handle is made of grade "A" American hickory and its traditional pattern embodies the heirloom quality of axes from times gone by. The handle is mounted to the head in a traditional manner using a softwood wedge crossed with a steel wedge for added security. A Linseed oil coating is applied to protect the handle. The axe head is coated with oil to prevent rusting and to showcase its natural beauty. A leather sheath is included to protect the tool and the user. Sheath is made of premium leather with a buckle for fastening and an embossed logo. Sheath is MADE IN THE USA as well. Minimize

Bailey's Kiln Dry System, for quality, value and economic operation. If you're interested in a very good, dependable and affordable dry kiln, you've come to the right place. Several years ago we needed a kiln here at the shop, because we mill a lot of wood here with our portable sawmills, and we searched the country for the best one. We settled on a kiln, made by Nyle, that has the same capacity as our model 4K (that we're selling here), and it has performed very well for us. We ordered a kit , built a building out of lumber, using the plans that are supplied in the package, we insulated the building and we installed the Nyle components. The only thing we had to buy separately was a special door gasket kit, which doesn't come in the kit because door dimensions vary so much. We've had success with the kiln from the start. We've dried fir, pine, redwood, madrone, five different types of oaks and chinkapin. Our 4K kiln is made by Nyle and we can tell you it really works well. It will dry approximately 2000 bd. ft. of softwood lumber and 4000 bd. ft. hardwood lumber; the quantity depends on the species.
