The Apollo 82-200F3 series bronze three-piece inline ball valve has a latch-lock lever handle, two gauge ports, and brazed male extensions with solder ends. This valve is made of bronze for higher strength and corrosion resistance than brass. The extensions are made of Type K copper tubing for brazing to copper tubing using Sil-Fos (silver-copper-phosphorous) brazing filler metal. The valve has a three-piece body to allow inline repairs, and a stainless steel latch-lock lever handle for manual on/off control. The lever handle and nut are made of stainless steel for strength and greater corrosion resistance than zinc-plated steel, and the lever can be locked in either the open or closed position. This valve is oxygen cleaned to reduce the risk of fire in oxygen-enriched environments, and has a 1/8” diameter brass gauge port on each extension for use with pressure gauges. It is full port for reduced friction; its inner diameter is the same as the inner diameter of the pipe it connects to for maximum operating efficiency. Reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (RPTFE) seats and seals reduce the possibility of leakage. The maximum pressure rating is 600 pounds per square inch (gauge) (psig) for cold working pressure (CWP), and the temperature range is -20 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This ball valve is for use in medical gas and clean room applications and meets standards CGA G4.4, NFPA 99, and MSS SP-110 for quality assurance. Ball valves use a spherical disc to control the flow between pipes, tubes, or hoses. Flow is allowed when the hole that pierces the ball-shaped disc is in line with the inlet and outlet of the valve. Flow is blocked when the ball is horizontally swiveled 90 degrees, so that the hole of the ball is perpendicular to the opening of the valve. Ball valves can be referred to as full port or reduced port (also known as regular or standard port) depending on the inner diameter of the valve.
