Total RNA is extracted from bacterial cells by a simple procedure that removes protein and DNA. Total RNA is submitted to agarose gel electrophoresis and stained with FAST RNA Stain. In the second part of this experiment, RNA is digested by RNase and the digestion will be monitored over a set of specified reaction times and analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis. Kit includes: instructions, LyphoCells, various solutions and buffers, RNase enzyme, agarose powder, stain. All you need: waterbath, pipet pumps or bulbs, lab glassware, distilled or deionized water, 95-100 percent isopropanol, electrophoresis tank, power supply, automatic micropipet with tips, balance, microwave oven or hot plate, misc. lab glassware, white light visualization system, and photodocumentation system.
