The Atago 2771 Master-SUR/Nα is a handheld, portable, clinical refractometer that measures three scales including urine specific gravity (SG) 1.000 to 1.060, serum protein 0.2g/100ml, and refractive index scale (nD) 0.0005, has automatic temperature compensation (ATC), and is housed in a plastic, IP-65 rated body. A refractometer measures the refractive index of a solution in a sample, converts it to substance concentration in units of percent by weight, and displays the results. Handheld refractometers are commonly used in the culinary, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, educational, geological, chemical, and ecological industries, and for water-testing applications.
