Longstanding Bloomsdale Spinach has large dark green, oval leaves on erect sturdy stems. This highly productive, robust heirloom variety is dependable and fairly resistant to bolting; standing well, even in hot weather. It is distinctive because of its glossy, heavy textured, intensely crinkled leaves. It can also be sown in fall for spring harvest in protected locations. Longstanding Bloomsdale Spinach seeds should be planted directly outdoors up to 4 weeks before the last spring frost date or 8 weeks before the first fall frost date for fall crops. This variety actually germinates best in cool soil. Placing: Full Sun Planting Depth: 1/2-inch. Spacing: 5 -6-inch. Maturity: 45 - 70 Days Plant Type: Annual 10-percent of all seed sales will be donated to the State Farmers Market Association We feel it's very important to support local farms, farmers and their families. 10 Heirloom Alexandria Strawberry Seeds Fragaria vesca Description: These decorative little plants produce delicious, aromatic red strawberries, about twice the size of wild berries but much smaller than the standard type. Perennials, Alpine strawberries stay compact and produce few runners, making them suitable for rock gardens, path edgings, pots, and window boxes. They begin producing the second spring, sometimes the first fall. Grows best in USDA Zones 3a to 8b. Bearing small 1/2 to 1 inch flowers. The flower in the first crotch is termed the primary flower, the two in the next two crotches are termed secondary flowers, the next four are tertiary flowers, the next eight are the quaternary, and the next 16, if they develop, are the quinary flowers. The primary flower opens first and usually produces the largest berry. Medium to larger berries. A good balance between wild and heritage grown varieties.
