Each chair is made with hand selected red maple sourced from sustainably managed local forests. The wood is kiln-dried to a moisture content between 6 to 8 percent — the optimal level for working wood — and during production the shop is kept at a constant relative humidity to keep the wood stable. Each piece of the final chair is carefully milled, then primed and painted three times — with sanding between each step for unsurpasseed smoothness. And the paint is high quality exterior acrylic by Sherwin Williams® , so you can easily fix chips or perform touch-ups with paint that matches exactly.
