The Hagstrom Select Series, Vintage Series, and UltraLux Series guitars recapture the original glorious Hagstrom style. They are built to the same stringent quality standards and feature Hagstrom's exclusive technologies including the legendary H-Expander Truss Rod while introducing a number of new technological advances such as the Resinator Fretboard in order to guarantee that these are the finest guitars on the market. The Vintage Series Deluxe-F is totally unique - lightweight and beautiful with extraordinary styling. Warm and rich, with overtones galore, the Deluxe-F offers a fast neck, F-holes for extra sustain, and a coil tap for vintage single coil sounds. The Deluxe-F features a 45mm Mahogany body, 10mm Carved Maple Top, optional Flame Maple Veneer, and a Maple Set Neck. The fingerboard is made from Resinator wood with Hagstrom 6mm Dot Position Marks. Resinator wood is more stable than any standard wood product. It is the perfect fingerboard material in that it eliminates wolf tones or hot spots, and it has a smooth, articulate sound. The H-Expander Truss Rod provides tension at either end and running the entire length of the neck, and the rigid yet lightweight alloy truss rod allows for a very low action and thin neck, two factors that were instrumental in earning Hagstrom its reputation as the world’s fastest playing guitar. Other features are: Hagstrom 18:1 die cast tuning keys, 24.75 inch scale length, a 3-way pickup toggle switch, a long travel T-O-M bridge with Hagstrom trapeze tail piece, 1 x volume/ 1 x tone/mini-toggle coil tap switch, and 2 x Hagstrom custom 60 humbuckers.

Since the guitar was first electrified in the 1930s, it has become an American icon and has transformed the soundtrack of our lives with its wide range of sounds—from seductive twang to howling distortion. Relatively inexpensive, easy to learn, and fun to play, the electric guitar is a truly democratic instrument. Millions have purchased Rickenbackers, Gibsons, Fenders, and other brands of guitars over the decades, fueling daydreams of fame and fortune. In The Electric Guitar: A History of an American Icon, scholars working in American studies, business history, the history of technology, and musicology come together to explore the electric guitar's importance as an invention and its peculiar place in American culture. Documenting the critical and ever-evolving relationship among inventors, craftsmen, musicians, businessmen, music writers, and fans, the contributors look at the guitar not just as an instrument, but as a mass-produced consumer good that changed the sound of popular music and the self image of musicians.Avoiding the familiar stories, The Electric Guitar covers the careers and influence of guitar heroes such as Buddy Holly and Jimi Hendrix, but it also looks at lesser known but equally influential guitarists, such as Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Ike Turner. It also explains the importance of record producers such as Lee Hazlewood, effects pioneers like Roger Mayer, and electronics engineers such as Jim Marshall—all of whom played vital parts in constructing the sounds we associate with the electric guitar. From inventor's workbench to factory floor to recording studio, André Millard and his colleagues trace the development of the instrument, its use across musical genres, and its profound impact on popular culture and American identity.

Tone: it's the concept that gear-obsessed guitarists discuss more than any other, and the Tone Manual is the first book to take this hallowed concept seriously. In the course of breaking down the individual components of the electric guitar rig, the book both examines the ingredients in any given piece of equipment that contribute to superior or inferior sound, and offers tips on improving and making the most of the gear you've already got - all with reference to interviews with name artists and manufacturers. In addition, the Tone Manual discusses the evolution of the guitarist's concept of "good tone." It provides an extensive guide to recorded examples of playing generally considered "tonally superior," citing examples from the early days of electric jazz, blues, country, and rock and roll; from the classic rock, blues rock, and heavy rock heyday of the late 1960s and early '70s; and from myriad contemporary artists. Throughout the Tone Manual, a series of more than 30 Tone Tips will offer quick, digestible, practical info bites to help readers improve their sound and better understand their equipment. The Tone Manual also includes a cover-mounted CD.
