Our Inner Blue Print We all read faces, and we do so from the moment we meet someone. We search the face for clues that help us get a sense of the person to whom we are speaking. Indeed, the face serves as the exterior design of our inner blue print. This blue print gives us immediate insight about what makes people tick and why. It gives us clues about our own personality, our innate abilities and our talents as well. A person s unique traits are readily apparent even at birth. You can see them in the newborn s face as easily as if you were looking at the baby s DNA, where you can find the same data. From a face reader s, or Personologists viewpoint, we genetically inherited tendencies from our parents. However, the home environment and personal circumstances we experience while growing up can provide major influences that heighten or modify both our positive and negative tendencies. Know Thyself Understanding your own traits represents the first step toward becoming the individual you want to be. This book does not claim that the knowledge of face reading will allow you to perform miracles nor does it claim that by using the principles of Personology you magically will transform into a completely fulfilled human being. To photograph a young boy in many of the positions that Andrew Wyeth painted the model Helga; to give someone another identity and photograph them through the transformation. Working exclusively in a small town in Germany, I was also interested in the impulse of Americans like Henry James, to travel to Europe in search of a certain "privileged" landscape only in fact to insert an American inflection. The work evolved into a kind of dance between the two models, between painting and photography, between the exacting detail of photography and all the nuances of sketches and drawings. As a way of keeping track of all these images, I began to clip out the contact prints I liked and to paste them into a book. For an alarmingly large number of these children, however, boredom, anxiety, and fear of learning quickly set in. The development of flexible, inquiring minds has rarely been the primary consideration in the design of educational systems. Making students into proper members of society has usually been of much greater concern than developing students who are creative thinkers.
