This polyurethane foam kit produces a rigid foam with a density of about two pounds per cubic foot. It is ideal for making custom fitted seats or for strengthening composite bodywork parts. When the two parts are mixed, they begin to react within about one minute. Most of the foaming occurs within the next several minutes. About 15 minutes is required for the foam to set. Allow several hours before any secondary operations are attempted such as sanding or carving (if required). The resulting foam will not absorb water and is not affected by polyester resin, epoxy resin, gasoline or oil. The compressive strength of the foam is 36 psi. It can withstand operating temperatures of up to 200 degrees F. One kit is enough for about 3 typical formula car seat inserts. Simply scribe or mark a reference line around each tire* and line up the two pointers on the gauge with the lines on the rear of the tires. Note the measurement and repeat at the front of the tires. Subtract the front measurement from the rear, and the result is your total toe-in (a negative result indicates toe-out). The pointers are mounted to a telescoping tube with a graduated scale for easy measurements. * The reference line doesn't even have to be centered on the tire, as long as it is parallel to the centerline of the tire. If you spin the tire and see only one line (as opposed to a spiral), you're set!

Although this beaded seat is similar to other kits on the market (the basic component is a vacuum bag full of beads), the beads in this kit are composed of single-impact Creafoam™, a material that provides far superior protection in the event of an impact. Unlike other beaded seat kits, the beads in this kit are not all the same size. Smaller beads in this kit fill the small gaps and voids left between the larger beads for a stronger finished product. Iridite 14-2 is a chemical process that produces a protective chromate conversion film on aluminum and aluminum alloys. Application is by dip, brush, swab or spray. Coatings ranging from clear to dark yellow are produced. Darker coatings provide the greatest corrosion protection. The coating can be used as a final finish or can be used as an ideal base for primers, paints, lacquers or for bonding. This 2 pound container of Iridite 14-2 concentrated powder makes up to 42.7 gallons when mixed with water at a rate of 0.75 ounces per gallon of water. You can make a faster-acting solution by increasing the concentration to 1.25 ounces per gallon (makes 25.6 gallons). Iridite 14-2 develops a yellow coating. The color can be used to determine when the desired film thickness has been formed. As the solution becomes depleted with use, the time required to form the coating increases. Additional powder can be added to rejuvenate the solution. A yellow coating can be converted to a clear coating by immersing the part in hot water which will fade the color. Please note that the aluminum surface must be absolutely clean before applying Iridite 14-2. This is usually accomplished with an acid etch. You will know that the surface is sufficiently clean when water completely wets the surface. If water has any tendency to form beads, the surface has not been properly cleaned. Most stores that sell automotive painting supplies carry a chemical for etching aluminum such as PPG DX533 aluminum cleaner. Iridite 14-2 is qualified under Military Specification MIL-DTL-81706B, Class 1A, Form II, Method A, B, C; and under Class C of the same specification. The clear finish also qualifies under Class 3, Form II, Method C of the same specification. WARNING: Iridite 14-2 contains hazardous ingredients. The Material Data Safety Sheet (MSDS) must be read and fully understood before using this product. All appropriate safety measures must be used including the use of rubber or PVC coated gloves, rubber or PVC coated apron and goggles to prevent skin contact with chemicals. Depleted solution must be properly disposed. One method is to allow all the water to evaporate and then to mix the remaining residue with concrete to create a workshop weight (avoid any exposure to dust when mixing the concrete). The resulting concrete weight can come in handy when clamping parts for bonding. Note: Iridite is a trademark of MacDermid Incorporated. Alodine is a trademark of Henkel Technologies. Iridite and Alodine products produce similar protective coatings on aluminum and aluminum alloys and are qualified under many of the same Military Specifications. Note: For industrial use only.
