Pros: Easy to configure. Sounds and looks great. Inexpensive. Backwards compatible with 18 year old remote.

Cons: Only one coaxial digital input. Only switches composite video, not S-video or component.

My 18 year old Yamaha receiver started flaking out on me, it was the power regulator for the display and volume control motor. Still sounds great though. So on boxing day I decided to buy this receiver and at least enter the age of surround sound and digital.

I hooked it up to my fairly expensive B&W tower speakers, plugged in the digital signal and fired it up. I was blown away by the digital 5.1 sound. The walls were rattling even at relatively low volume, I won't be bothering with a subwoofer. I'm happy even with just the two speakers, but I will be picking up a couple of rears, and possibly a center.
