XP Pro is the best OS

Pros: The best Windows operating system
Cons: Not very stable, expensive
The Bottom Line:
If you have a PC, you must have Windows XP Pro, it is the best Operating System on the market
I have used all the Windows Operating Systems and I like XP Pro the best. I could not tell you side by side why exactly it is better, I just know I prefer Windows XP because of a few personal experiences. For example, the clock sets itself. Things like that set it apart.
It is not just that. I have a printer that I would turn off and unplug sometimes. In Home or NT, I forget which, it would auto detect but try to install it again. XP Pro did not do that. It just seemed to work better for me in other ways that I cannot recall too.
I just think this is the OS everyone should use. I would consider myself an above average computer user and I have been asked which OS to use and I say XP Pro. This is of course based on home use and personal computer use. I am not talking about servers or what you might use in a networked business or something.
Artists love Apple and if I did video and graphics I might like that it is stable and more powerful. Linux is very stable. I have used a few and the thing does not crash. Windows crashes and slows down all the time. I don't hate Windows and that's the last bad word you will hear me say about it.
The fact is Windows has problems but it is the the leader for a reason. Everyone writes programs for Windows. I got a Flash camera recently. There was no Mac or Linux software for the device. It might not matter for that little camera but imagine printers or monitors or things like TV cards.
Also, Windows makes everything work together without trying. Installing Linux and trying to upgrade a Mac is next to impossible for the average user. You have to know what a shell means and strange commands and things like that. If you are going to use more than one computer, Linux is nice to try but Windows should be one of those computers.
It is just the best. Linux is free and stable but lacks ease of use and lots of programs and hardware support. This is the best OS.
