INTRODUCTION:
I purchased the Waring Pro WC1000 from HBC Home Outfitters for $200 CDN. The stainless coffee maker comes with 2, 12 cup glass carafes with two hot plates, 5 cup hot water reservoir and you can have 24 cups of coffee hot and ready for large parties.


DIFFICULT OPERATION:
If you ask a guest to operate it, you will either be asked "where did the water go?" or "Where are your paper towels?"

To start you need to understand that the hot water reservoir is not separate from the coffee maker. The water reservoir always has to be full and hot before you can make coffee. Takes about 10 minutes for the water to get hot in the reservoir after the coffee maker is turned on. I simply have the coffee maker always on to avoid the 10 min warm up but this causes the water reservoir to empty slowly as the hot water boils away and electricity is wasted.
If you overfill the water reservoir with more then 6 cups of water, the extra water will flow into the filter tray and into the carafe. There is no drip stop!

If you try to make coffee and the reservoir is not full, when you try to add water to make your coffee, water will first flow into the reservoir before it will start flowing through your coffee tray and into the carafe. There is no water reservoir just for coffee. Brewing starts the second you add water automatically when the hot water reservoir is full and if the water reservoir is not full, the water will go there first then lukewarm water will flow into the tray and into the carafe and you will have to throw the coffee out of the tray and start again.

Each carafe has two different cup measurements. On one side you got water cup measurement for coffee and on the other side you have cup measurement for water reservoir.

Yeah I know, this is really stupid but 6 water reservoir cups is actually 5 coffee cups.


CONCLUSION:
The operation sounds confusing but I got used to it. I would really like to meet geniuses who invented this product ;)
I purchased this coffee maker because it had 2 independent hot plates, 2 glass carafes. I really like the stainless look and how the carafe and filter trey slide freely.
Operating this coffee maker requires patience, maintenance and understanding how it works.


UPDATE:
After one year of use the water reservoir makes constant boiling sounds when coffee maker is on. In the past it would only sound like that after the water initially boiled.


PS - Buy natural brown filters, the bleached ones are not good for you.
