2004 Volvo S80

Midyear addition of a new base model completes the 2004 changes to Volvos flagship sedan. S80 kicked off the model year with freshened styling and newly available all-wheel drive. Offered are 2.5T and T6 models, both with turbocharged engines. The 2.5T versions have a 208-hp 5 cyl and a 5-speed automatic transmission. They come with front-wheel drive or AWD. T6s have a 268-hp inline-6 cyl, 4-speed automatic with manual shift gate, and come only with front drive. The front-drive 2.5T was a midyear replacement for the prior entry-level S80, the 194-hp 2.9 model. Traction control, ABS, front side airbags, and head-protecting curtain side airbags are standard on all S80s. Leather upholstery, sunroof, and an antiskid system are standard on T6s, optional on 2.5Ts. A navigation system, rain-sensing wipers, and Volvos On-Call Plus assistance system are available.
