The 2001 Volvo C70 is available in four models: HT Coupe, HT SE Coupe, LT Convertible, and HT Convertible. The LT Coupe model has been discontinued for 2001. Coupe and Convertible models are equipped with new 16-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels and Pirelli P6000 all-season tires. The recently added SE Coupe receives 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels and Michelin MXX3 tires. Convertible top color choices include Blue, Black, or Sand. Safety remains a high priority for Volvo, and all models now offer an enhanced side impact area offering greater head and chest protection. Optional equipment includes heated front seats, Stability and Traction Control (STC), 17-inch alloy wheels, and a Dolby ProLogic surround sound system.

Pros: Style, Turbo, Price

A wonderful highway car. Stereo sound is exhilirating. Front wheel drive is a plus for a sports car (neither BMW nor Mercedes coupes are). Turbo performance may lag but its overall performance is respectable and fun. However the ride is rough in the city, you'll feel every bump. I Compared To: I traded my '93 Mercedes 300CE for the Volvo. I have to admit that the Mercedes product is/was sturdier and more solid and a heck of a lot more expensive - inside and out. However, Volvo engine performance was a breath of fresh air (in comparison).
I would recommend this car to anyone who is interested in buying a well priced European luxury sport coupe. Would suggest test driving comparable cars before choosing this one. However, this car is probably the best deal with respect to performance/dollars. I would highly recommend it. One final note, the computer system monitoring engine and overall vehicle state can be frustrating ('check engine' light) -- still a wonderful car. I am a former BMW 325 and Mercedes 300CE driver and this coupe is just as good or better than those products. I say drive it -- I bet you'll buy it! Oh yeah dont forget "Volvo is the safest car on the road."
