2001 Beetle

The Beetle continues into the 2001 model year showcasing several key enhancements. Among these changes is the addition of 17-inch alloy wheels with P225/45R17 tires. Also, new HID headlights with automatic leveling and a washer system will be available as an option on models equipped with the 1.8L turbo gas engine. The GLX model will see the addition of rain-sensing wipers and a self-dimming rearview mirror. A Monsoon premium sound system is a new option featuring an amplifier and eight speakers. A six-disc CD changer is available as a dealer option. The 1.9L TDI diesel engine, producing 155 lb-ft of torque, continues as a unique option.
