Pros: Bright, brilliant, and colorful. Digital and analog inputs.
Cons: No digital cable included! Small adjustable range.
The Bottom Line:
Great value, great monitor. Works perfectly in Linux and Windows on my dual-boot system. Colorful. Buy it.
I've had this wonderfully crisp, bright, and colorful monitor for three months now ($399 at Fry's before rebate), and I've loved every minute. This is a gigantic improvement on my old CRT in every respect. I purchased to save my eyes from ocular cancer, which I have no doubt would have developed had I continued to use the radiation-producing 19" conventional monitor. This new one is five stars. It even matches my black computer, black stereo, and black keyboard and mouse. Two 1/3 stuck pixels out of the million plus on the screen. Not so bad. Brilliant and beautiful. Wish I could find a babe who had stats this good. The one major complaint is that DESPITE saying on the box that the monitor includes video cables, the only cable included is analog, not digital. This is really annoying. I tried the analog though and I admit that it's nearly as good as the digital. And you can get a DVI cable on ebay for 99 cents. However, they should clearly say on the box that it only includes an analog cable. I take off one third of a star for that. The gaming performance in Counter Strike leaves something to be desired, although strangely enough, Doom III has no ghosting. Not sure why. Minus one third of a star for mediocre gaming performance in Windows. And one third of a star for the small adjustable range. One of the best values you'll find otherwise.
