The 4-cyl LE and SE have standard manual transmission. Automatic transmission is optional for those models and standard on the 4-cyl XLE and all V6 models. V6 SE and all XLE models have antilock 4-wheel disc brakes; ABS is optional for other Camrys. Also optional on all models are front side airbags and head-protecting curtain side airbags, which can be combined with an available antiskid system on V6 models. The power-adjustable brake and accelerator pedals are available only with automatic transmission as a $120 option. Other options include a navigation system with dashboard touch screen. Camrys SE model includes a firmer suspension and special trim. LE models join other Camrys with standard remote keyless entry and, at midyear, a power driver seat. LEs have 15-inch wheels, other models have 16s. The ES 300 from Toyotas luxury Lexus division shares Camrys basic design. Minimize

Everything You Need, Not Everything You Want

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Refinement, quiet ride, fit/finish, reliability, Awesome JBL system, features for price

Cons: Dynamics make for a bland, uneventful drive

The Bottom Line:
Hassle-free ownership experience and a comfortable car make for a great package!

Author's Review
This review pertains to the XLE 4 cylinder model.

The car has incredible fit and finish. No plastic mold seams lines, sharp edges, rattles or squeaks. Everything works with precision as it SHOULD. Road noise is hushed, giving the feeling of isolation and safety from the world outside.

This car has tons of features you wouldn't expect at this price point: power seats, trip computer, 8 speaker JBL stereo with 6-disc in-dash CD changer, auto climate control, ABS, rear window sunshade, Homelink. We paid under $20k for our car.

Gas mileage for the 4 cylinder is good. We average about 27 MPG on regular gas. Acceleration is good; I don't know why anyone would need the V6.

The ONLY problem with this car is that it isn't fun to drive. It's not objectionable either; it does what it's supposed to do and not much more. It gets its driver from Point A to Point B in comfort, relative style, and without trouble.
