The Tacoma pickup has been carried over with minor alterations for 2002. It is again available as a regular cab, extended cab, or a four-door double cab. Both the regular and extended cab models are equipped with a 2.7L four-cylinder engine, with a 3.4L 190-hp V6 available at extra cost. The double cabs come standard with the V6 and a four-speed automatic transmission. The Tacomas safety features include dual front airbags, side-impact door beams, and available anti-lock brakes. Several upgrade packages are available on the Tacoma, providing features such as off-road suspension (4WD models), alloy wheels, privacy glass, and color-keyed exterior trim. A variety of post production accessories are also available.

great styling,very roomy interior for a compact truck,1st thing I did was get into the back seat to check for roomy ness and I must say I was impressed.I didn't care to much for the new grill stlye on this truck.I notice people like the way the quad cab looks and I'm always getting responses as to what a nice truck it is.I would have liked to have been able to purchase this in a standard transmission but they don't offer it in quad cab.Milage could use improving.At first I didn't like they way the trucks steering was,seemed loose and not as responsive as my 91 Toyota.I have gotten use to it since then.I would recommend this truck to anyone who likes Toyota products.I forgot to mention 1 thing I noticed is the 4X4 system seems to disengage hard.
