The Celica returns for the new model year with only minor detail changes. The front grille opening now has a new mesh screen design. Available models continue as GT and GTS. The GT features a 140-hp four-cylinder engine, while the GTS boasts a 180-hp four-cylinder with a standard six-speed manual transmission. An electronically controlled four-speed automatic is optional on both models. The Action Package, available on both models, includes a sport front bumper, rocker panels, aero rear bumper, and a rear wing. A leather interior and 17-inch alloy wheels are GTS-exclusive options. A four-wheel anti-lock braking system continues to be an extra-cost option on both GT and GTS models, as does side-impact airbags.

Celica GT-S = One of the best FWD Cars

Pros: Nice styling, excellent handling, good gas mileage, fun to drive
Cons: Low on torque, interior could be considered cheap

The Bottom Line:
Great car for a great price. An absolute thrill to drive.
Exterior:
The looks of the car has a nice sleek and futuristic look about it with nice sporty look to it. The 16" wheels nicely compliment the exterior and the Action Package offered by TRD is also very nice addition to the appearance of the car. There is nice array of colors to chose from as well, my personal favorite is the Carbon Blue. Looks almost black in most lights but has a nice blue shine to it in bright sunlight and under street lights. Overall I like the stock exterior but the additional Action Package adds a much needed aggressive look to the car.
Interior:
The interior is all very nicely placed and controls are all at your fingertips. Everything is layed out in a manor that is easy to control. The leather seats are quite comfortable even for long trips and are above par for the class of the car. The interior quality is above average but not as good as it's rival the RSX Type-S.
Performance:
The engine is very well designed and loves to revved high. Once you pass the VVTL-i engages between 6000-6200 rpms you feel a rush that is unlike anything else. Overall the engine mated with the 6 speed transmission has more than enough power to have fun with. The suspension is also quite good for a FWD vehicle and will outhandle most in its class. It's a very light and nimble car that deserves a drive to truly appreciate it.
Overall:
I feel the Celica GT-S is a very great car for the price. I don't feel you can beat the reliability of the car. As far as performance goes, there are faster cars out there but this is just a fun ride. Not to mention it gets quite good gas mileage for such a rev-happy engine. I would definitely purchase this car again if given the option.
