The Sequoia is introduced as a new full-size sport utility model and is a new addition to the existing Toyota SUV line-up. Based on the Tundra, the Sequoia is equipped with the same i-Force V-8 engine that powers the Land Cruiser and Tundra. Trim lines are designated as SR5 and Limited models, both available in 2WD and 4WD. Unique standard features include Vehicle Skid Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC). VSC is a system designed to help maintain cornering stability in situations where the vehicle is about to lose traction and skid sideways. TRAC is a traction control system that operates in both 2WD and 4WD. Other standard features include Automatic Climate Control, 3-in-1 cassette and CD stereo, and an automatic transmission.

The Bottom Line:
Pricey but what isn't these days. If you're in the market for a full-sized SUV, the Sequoia should be on your short-list. Should prove reliable for many years.
I have owned Toyota vehicles since 1978. I have owned a Celica, 2 Camrys (still have the 1989 sedan and its going strong), a Cressida, and a 4-Runner (traded it in for the Sequoia) and I have always been impressed with the Toyota quality and reliability. As long as you maintain the vehicle it keeps on running. I compared the Sequoia with the Fords (2002 Explorer and Expedition), the Chevy Tahoe and even looked at the Cadillac (too pricey). After all was said and done, the Toyota came out on top because of the styling, past reliability and performance. The latest Ford recalls didn't help their case either.
The Sequoia is a truck, make no mistake, but it rides a lot less like a truck than my 4-Runner ever did. It's quiet, has good acceleration and solid braking. The rear vision is somewhat limited due to the length of the vehicle I assume, but the overall forward and side vision is far better than the 4-Runner. We've had the truck now for 2 weeks and we love it. So do my 3 kids who were cramped into the rear seat of the 4-Runner. Now they can spread out over the rear 6 seats.
