The Toyota RAV4 returns in 1999 with minimal changes to the exterior and interior. Four RAV4 models are available. These models include a two-door Soft Top model and a four-door Hard Top model. Both are available in two wheel drive or full-time four wheel drive. A four-speed automatic transmission is optional. Exterior features include protective bodyside cladding, a retractable double layered vinyl top with removable plastic windows (Soft Top models only), quad multi-reflector headlamps and intermittent front and rear windshield wipers (rear wipers not available on Soft Top models). Standard interior features include cup holders, full carpeting, tinted glass, child safety locks (Four-door models only), a digital clock and tilt steering.
