For 1997, the Tacoma features minor mechanical refinements, and revisions and additions to the option list across the line-up. Two-wheel drive models feature a redesigned front-end styling. Changes include aerodynamic headlights and a new grille. A Value Edition Package, which includes power steering, a rear bumper, ETR radio and floor mats, is optional on 2WD models. Interior features include a fabric bench seat, full door trim with cloth inserts, dual armrests, full carpeting and headliner, dual cup holders and a driver-side foot rest. Xtracab models feature a split front bench seat, rear jump seats, rear child restraint system, fold-out table with integral cupholders, flip-out rear quarter windows and height-adjustable front headrests.
