Pros: Durable, inexpensive, high quality player
Cons: remote easily misplaced due to it's size, and imperative to operation
I have owned this unit for over a year now, and have had absolutely no problems with it. I have it wired in with all of my other equipment and surround sound, and I often use it to listen to cds to access the quality of those speakers. This is a purchase I would recommend to anyone. It has been used on a daily basis in my home, even by my young children who put delicate electronics to the test, and it still works as well as the day I bought it. Other reviewers were disappointed by the small remote, which I wasn't bothered by until we lost it. This unit is basically inoperable without a remote, but I have since replaced it with a universal with no trouble. I have two other players, and without the remote you can manually press the play button on the unit itself to play a dvd, but with this toshiba you have to have the remote to press the enter button instead of play for almost all dvds.
