Bulky, but potent

Pros: Power, battery life, monitor size/resolution
Cons: Sound quality, size
The Bottom Line:
A good computer, and definitely recommendable, especially if you find one at a good price.
This computer may be sizeable, but it packs its share of computing power. It is capable of running a number of programs simultaneously without missing a beat.
It also has an impressive battery life, often greater than two hours, even while using CD/DVD ROMs and/or wireless internet cards. Granted, while running the PC by itself, the battery life is even more extended, but while using these auxiliary features the computer has plenty of endurance.
The sizable monitor is another appreciable feature, as Toshiba decided to spring for the 1024 by 768 pixel resolution monitor over the 800 by 600. The greater amount of space and greater resolution makes for an impressive view of photographs, websites, and text documents, and the size of the LCD display itself makes gaming and movie watching all the more involving.
The speaker system delivers decent sound, although it does tend to sound small and a bit tinny. It is capable of filling a room with sound, granted, but I recommend an external speaker system for true music and sound connoisseurs.
The touch pad has a set of shortcuts in the corners, so that one can call up any open window, which is convenient for navigating a number of web pages or programs, access document folders, the my computer menu, and the desktop. This is a feature I havent seen on any laptop computer other than Toshiba, and is just one of the little conveniences that I appreciate in my laptop.
