E335

Pros: Lightweight, slim, enough power for daily uses, SD slot
Cons: Screen could be brighter
The Bottom Line:
Need a slim ppc that will fit in your pocket? Get the E335! Not top of the line, but it will get the job done.
I decided to move up from using a Dayrunner agenda to a digital agenda. In this case, I chose Toshiba's E335.
This bad boy came with the minimum software installed. There were Pocket Word, Excel, and a few other programs that I'll never use.
The screen is crisp and clear, save for the fact that the bottom part of the screen seems to be brighter, but one can't really notice that. A TFT would've been nice, but that would've bumped up the price.
I was able to enter stuff via the stylus and I experienced no problems. The recording button on the left side can be a problem since all I have to do is hit it to turn the PDA on.
When I first tried to sync it to my computer, my computer wouldn't detect the PDA. So, instead of putting the PDA in the cradle after I turned on the ActiveSync software, I closed ActiveSync, and slid the PDA into the cradle, and the PDA started to sync with the computer on its own.
Battery life is around three hours, but I only use this for MP3s and writing down my homework so it's no biggie.
The speaker is not loud or overbearing so I recommend using headphones to listen to music. A SD slot provides the memory expansion for all those MP3s or movies.
I installed pocket Quake on it and it ran fine. Well, it was slow on the big screen mode, but it was fast when the screen size was reduced. Using the stylus to turn was a pain in the neck so I uninstalled it.
Since this was my first PDA, I don't have any complaints. It works fine and gets the job done. End of story.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a slim PDA. It runs PocketPC 2002, but I don't feel the need to upgrade.
So far there are no problems with the OS...i.e. crashes, etc.
