Torchwood: Sexy, Dark and Dangerous.
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: Wicked good stories with the budget to make them come alive.
Cons: Sometimes a bit cheesy...but that's the way I like it.
Bottom Line:
This BBC series is bold and innovative, and loves testing the barriers. They take chances, but so far, none of them has fallen through. Watch it.

A New Sci-Fi Fix, Torchwood is when Everything Changes.
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: Nice sci-fi premise, big ideas, intriguing characters and situations.
Cons: More swearing, sex and violence than you'd get in a U.S.-produced show.
Bottom Line: Torchwood--suspenseful, exciting, naughty and nice.
Torchwood: Season One - Sexy, Dark, and Dangerous
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: great characters, good stories, intriguing new aliens, good continuity
Cons: more time spent on the characters than the aliens and other crisises
Bottom Line: I don't guarantee you'll like this if you like the new Doctor Who, but I suggest you check it out if you can handle the adult themes.

TORCHWOOD: THE COMPLETE FIRST SERIES - All Grown Up (and No Where To Go)
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: More John Barrowman, more Captain Jack backstory!
Cons: Unnecessary sex and swearing added simply to seem "adult".
Bottom Line:
A weak start to a series that has so much potential and yet manages to piss it all away.

Sex, Drugs, Violence, and Monsters Flame Out in Torchwood
| Author's Rating: |
|
Pros: several excellent episodes, most of the time travel works, pretty good special effects
Cons: sensationalistic, many episodes dreadful, often goes for sex and violence over story
Bottom Line:
When Torchwood gets it right it can be brilliant. When it doesn't, it's dreadful. Be ready to wade through the muck and the mud to find the gems.
