Kemco brings its popular Top Gear series to traveling players with this exceptionally clean-looking racer. Top Gear Pocket offers three modes: Championship, Time Attack and two-player Vs. Battle, which requires a Game Link Cable. Taking advantage of the GBC's superior sound processing capabilities, the Pak boasts a good variety of music and surprisingly realistic engine whines. One car has a faster top speed, while the other offers better acceleration and handling. You can choose automatic transmission or, for a real challenge, shift manually by pressing up and down on the Control Pad. The surfaces of the three courses feel and play much the same, even though the Grassland track is supposed to be asphalt while the Desert and Jungle tracks are gravel.
