Great software makes this GPS great

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Very nice software, portable, voice directions

Cons: Expensive, GPS slow at times

OK, so I admit it. I get lost getting out of my garage!

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: No real set up required, easy to use, good voice quality, nice 3D display!

Cons: Screen difficult to see in direct sunlight. Route picked is sometimes long way around!

Bottom Line:
This is one of the simplest units to use, with only minimal set up. No computer hook up is needed, and it is pre-loaded and ready to go! Read More at Epinions.com

Great Hardware Marred by Poor Map Routing

Author's Rating: Rating: 3/5 stars

Pros: fast, accurate satellite lock, quick map redraws, great sound, touchscreen

Cons: price, durability(?), reflective screen, UNACCEPTABLE MAP ACCURACY

Bottom Line:
Easy to use and convenient. Unfortunately, poor map accuracy ruins an otherwise excellent package. Read More at Epinions.com

Excellent interface, mediocre performace, buy the TomTom Go 300 instead and save

Author's Rating: Rating: 3/5 stars

Pros: Quick start-up (10-15 seconds), excellent user interface, audio, and predictive text, battery powered, plus bluetooth!

Cons: Maps are a bit outdated, no WAAS, ASN is virtually useless.

Bottom Line:
The Tomtom 700 is a competent automobile GPS system, however I'd select the 300 as it is a better value or wait for the 510 model in April 2006. Read More at Epinions.com
