The goal of The New Tetris is to collect as many lines as possible. You clear lines by completely filling horizontal lines with puzzle pieces that drop from the top of the screen. You can rotate 'em and move 'em left and right to drop 'em in place. As the number of lines you have collected increases, pieces drop faster, so watch out! When your piece-pile stacks to the top of the screen, your career as a Tetris tycoon comes to an abrupt halt. If you're a Tetris fan, The New Tetris will take your obsession to a whole new level!

Tetris is Addictive!

Pros: great fun, new features
Cons: highly addictive!
The New Tetris is such an awesome game. It's just like the old tetris we all know and love, with an added twist to it. There is an option on the two-four player mode that is very competitive because it adds blocks to the screens of the some of the players as other players advance.
If you are playing more than two players, everyone keeps playing until there is only one person left playing. This is great fun if you have a group of people playing.
If you choose to play alone, the game is just as fun and addictive. You will find yourself playing for hours trying to beat your best score. Then when you beat your best score, you will keep playing to beat that score, and so on...
A really cool feature in this version of Tetris that the old tetris did not have is the option to see the next piece and if it was a better piece than the current one, with the push of a button the pieces switch. Only downside to that is if you switch by accident there is no going back the the first one, you can only switch once per piece.
There are not many games I play on N64, but this one definitely gave me my money's worth, and then some. If you haven't tried this game as of yet, I recommend you go out and rent it or buy it very soon!
