The goal of The New Tetris is to collect as many lines as possible. You clear lines by completely filling horizontal lines with puzzle pieces that drop from the top of the screen. You can rotate 'em and move 'em left and right to drop 'em in place. As the number of lines you have collected increases, pieces drop faster, so watch out! When your piece-pile stacks to the top of the screen, your career as a Tetris tycoon comes to an abrupt halt. If you're a Tetris fan, The New Tetris will take your obsession to a whole new level! There is no game I know of more addicting than Tetris. A simple game yet so complex. And while N64 games run a little on the expensive side, many owners of the game have said to me, "That game's gotten more use and been more worth what I paid for it than any game I've ever played."

The new features to the game, such as while the piece is falling, a "shadow" of the piece at the bottom of the screen will show you how the piece will land (this feature can be turned off to increase difficulty), incredible graphics compared to the gameboy you normally stare at for hours, 4 player support, and many challenges for a single player, make it a definite good buy.

When I first saw the commercial, I thought, "What a waste of graphics!" but after I got a chance to play, I changed my tune to, "Now, why didn't they do this earlier?"

I'm a Zelda addict, and for a while, I thought Zelda was the only N64 game I'd ever REALLY want. I'm not much for puzzle games, but I've always loved Tetris. I figured I'd stick with gameboy, but then my sister, who's got Tetris flowing through her blood, bought a copy of the N64 version, so one night when I was at her house, we started playing. The only depressing part about Tetris is when you couldn't beat your sister at it to save your life...

I was immediately addicted. I had to have that game for myself. I fought back the drool (that's just an expression). Once I finally gave the game a chance, it proved it could be an extremely entertaining experience.

My final advice is, don't start a game 5 minutes before you have to go to work/school... It would be bad.

The New Tetris: Well worth my time and effort.
