We really enjoy Cooking Mama for Nintendo DS, and when we got a Nintendo Wii one of the first games we bought was Cooking Mama Cook Off for Nintendo Wii. This game you can find just about anywhere and it's under $20, so it's right inexpensive.

This game is rated E for Everyone and is made by Majesco. You can play this game with one or two players, you can go head to head making recipes and it has a split screen so you both can play at once rather than waiting on the other player to finish. Friends and Food of the world mode is where you compete against the system so to speak- against chefs that are specialist in their realm of food (Japanese, Italian, etc.). In single player mode, you can just make a recipe of your choice and try to get a good score on it. The better your score, the more recipes you can unlock (there are 55 of them).

To play, you have to ‘cook' your recipe. You'll have to do things with your Wii remote, like crack eggs, grate items, stir food, grind meat, fry things, butter skillets, and all sorts of other things. I will tell you if you've got carpal tunnel like I do, this will wear your wrist out because there is a lot of movement with this game. One complaint I do have with this is that with this Wii version the remote sometimes is not as precise as what it needs to be sometimes causing a flub on the game.

Now, the music to this is a tad annoying, but I pretty much knew that was coming because the DS version also has the same music. The graphics are rather cartoony, but when it comes to games, I want to relax not stress out over and this game is pretty simple and the only thing that gets annoying is your Wii remote not being as precise as you need it to be.

Also, Cooking Mama herself is a tad weird. For one, her voice is about half crazy, and she says stuff like when you crack your eggs wrong- "You no mind" and "Mama Fix". That also is a tad annoying, but not a big deal.

Overall, this is a pretty fun game, and once you really start to unlock recipes, it becomes more fun and we really like the 2 player mode as well. This is a nice family fun game, and overall I would recommend it.
